self explanatory title..

you know you love skiing when, you make perfect tables out of your ice cream or mash potatoes

fail a class cuz you daydream too much and cant really focus on anything other than skiing.

when you ski more days during the winter than you acctually go to school

you pray for rain in town because you know up there it will be snow!

ill post more as i come up with them .. but im sure im not the only one with these kinds of stories :P

you get brutally called out by your teacher when you don't know the answer because you were drawing a sequence of tanner breaking his ankles over chad's gap during class

you try to filp/spin off of everything

you draw function graphs as bc booters

you can't stop buying ski stuff even though you have a - symbol and lots of red zeroes in your bank account

I wrote this to try to describe why I'm addicted. I think it is pretty good attempt.

Who am I
or anyone
To hide the pain of the world
beneath snow?
To see everything through rose-colored goggles?
To be joyous and happy, satisfied and content
While so many others will never
touch the snow, or know
What it feels like to be free

I think we wait for winter
because we see the bare earth covered

I think the reason I can’t sit still
is that no one is meant to deal
with reality without escape

Just as the boulder field becomes a pillow line
And verdure forest floor becomes a white carpet
To be happy, we must pad our reality
Make jagged edges smooth
Be able to float while dragged down

We cannot see the world forever as bare
Like seasons, each view deserves it’s due
But to live to see it bare again
Snow must cover it anew

You move 2000 miles away from your family, friends, and everything you've ever known to a school that you've not even seen before because it has good skiing. 

You have two jobs, both in the ski industry.

You take the winter semester off to work/ski.

You go outside put on your skis and butter or tip stand on them, or spin.

when you get all geared up (helmet, boots, poles and all) and sit in your room thinking about skiing or going on ns until it gets too hot to do it anymore.  then you switch to basketball shorts and do butters around our room.

i love this thread :)

40 degrees is "warm".
60 degrees is "disgustingly hot".
Carrying a 40-lbs boot bag AND your skis is nothing.
Pain is a second-nature feeling.
The first snow of the year gets your adrenaline pumping even before you hit the slopes.
The insides of your jacket pockets are molded with food you stashed to eat on the chairlifts, so you wouldn't have to stop for lunch.
The only new movies you've seen are all ski movies.

buying another sick hoodie even though you have 5 more in your closet...

throw your jacket on and plug in your ipod and put it on your ski playlist to remember your last line...

take an armada (no pun intended) of trucks across town to get snow from the ice rink and session your backyard all day.

spend a large portion of class time either on NS, playin jibberish, or drawing ski secuences...
