Perseids Meteor Shower

**Best seen:** NIGHT of August 11th to MORNING of August 12th.
**Best time:** between 2 a.m. to dawn on August 12th. This is after the moon 'sets' so the sky will be darker!.......


Times listed are the times wherever you are. 2 a.m. Eastern Time is only 11 p.m. Pacific Time so it won't be dark enough there yet. 2 a.m. Eastern Time is 9 a.m. in Amsterdam and you won't be able to view it in the morning. You have to go out after the moon is gone........



The meteor shower can be viewed anywhere in the Northern Hemisphere and the shower happens around the same time every year........

I really didn't see that much. But the one I did see happened to be the first meteor I've ever seen.

Am I understanding right that we should be able to see some more action tonight? I'm kinda bummed I didn't get the full experience last night and I'll totally sleep outside tonight if there's a chance.

yeah i didn't see a whole lot.
i saw like one or two that were HUGE though. like broke up into pieces in the sky.
pretty tight, tonight should be good too.

will this be again tonight?

tried to see some shit last night, ended up getting really high adn falling asleep, woke up around 3 am out side bitten by 100s of misquotios shit sucked. saw nothing.

Haha pretty much how my experience went, except when I woke up at 2 am I just poked my head out my window.

But this http://stardate.org/nightsky/meteors/ website says the peak is that the morning/evening of August 12th. So I guess there should be more tonight, right?

Yeah I was up at 3 and didnt even know there was a meteor shower. I woke up again at 4 and looked on facebook and everyones status was about some meteor shower, I thought it was just some concert, so I fell back asleep

i think im gonna get really high and stay up this time.

also last night i was convinced a plane was a meteor haha, then i was told that in the showers theres like hundreds at a time , i was veryyyy wrong.

Haha that reminds me. I was convinced for a few minutes that I was seeing the meteors. Then I just realized they were regular stars and I was swaying back and forth while squinting my eyes.

Yesterday was my bday, and the shower is almost always around or on my bday. last night we grabbed some wobbly pops, some bud, hot dogs, and chilled on top of an old pier overlooking the lake and mountains surrounding with good friends, and a meteor shower. it was fucking rad, great birthday.
