Thread tags

when we create a thread we should be able to tag it with stuff to make searching for threads a lot easier. so say we took a trip to barcelona. if we named the thread simply trip i took someone searching for threads about barcelona wouldn't find that thread and wouldnt get any interesting info from that both wasting the thread creators time as well as the person searching for the thread

for as much as we say "search bar" our search bar kinda sucks. we need to do some work with it. any more ideas for the search bar?

i think this could work, and you wouldn't have to be so damn precise when searching for stuff.

When searching it should have tags and when you rollover them the whole original title appears so it is easier to identify tag from tag.

oh and cult search bars. its annoying when you have noobs in the crochet cult asking how to make ear flaps when there is like 50 threads about it.

I also think you should be able to search specific areas, such as search only buy/sell/trade, or media & arts.

And can someone tell me how the good/bad seller list in buy & sell works? I'm not willing to search through 50+ pages looking for a member name can someone make it so that we can search for names in that thread?

I agree fully. The NS searchbar freaking sucks. It is the one MAJOR flaw in the site and it can make finding previously posted information extremely difficult sometimes.

I thought that it was getting an overhaul like a year ago? Did that not occur?

Agreed. Should it search only in the thread creator's original post, or throughout the entire thread (all posts)? Searching through every post would be a lot of information, and if there is one match in one post that is irrelevant to the thread then that would just make the situation worse.
