so i just got a 50% of thing on backcountry.com and i'm gonna give it to my friends little brother who needs his first set of park skis. i also need to order them by saturday so quick replys would be super cool.
he's 4'9'', pretty light i'm not sure how much but hes going into 8th grade. probably 70-80 lbs.
the skis i have to choose from right now (that are reasonably in his length, though some might be too long) are:
volkl ledges 158 (volkl measures long, they'll be around 153 right?)
salomon flyers 151
maybe k2 fujis in 159 (looong)
maybe 4frnt TNKs in like 155 but i'm not a big fan of 4frnt park skis
he'll be skiing ice coast, probably 50/50 groomers/park. no powder unless we get luck this season. i'm pretty set on the ledges but i just wanted to make sure they weren't super stiff or too long or anything.
my biggest question is bindings- are rossi axial 120 TIs too much binding if hes so tiny? they're the lowest din bindings on backcountry outlet. or should i get junior bindings? i think the rossi should be ok, i just REALLY don't want to be responsible if his bindings don't release and he gets hurt.
the problem is all they're juinor bindings with a 3-7 range. and that seems really small for someone going into 8th grade. plus i'm not sure if our local shop has the right jig to mount them.
heres their juinor binding selection if that helps:
