considering that they've only been done in the last two years, many of the "best" pros don't do them and that pretzles are still considered the shit mean that the trick isn't played out, its technical and if somebody does it it gives them a legitimate chance at winning a comp, not played out

I think switch 10's are overrated every big air contest is the same thing switch 10's its been like that for the last 3 or 4 years. double flips bring variety, yeah the kanga is a little played but you can bring it to 10 do different grabs and make it flatter. and the other double flips out there are getting better so is this year the end of the switch 10 in big air contests?

word.  the only thing is that i think that a big switch 10 oozing with style (ganier switch 10 octo's) would deffantly be harder.  I cant do kangos onto snow but after seeing some doubles thrown at the end of this year i can deffantly say the "holy shit that was crazy, i wanna learn that" factor is there more so then with an even better looking cork 9.  So yeah i think they are a dope trick and unless it becomes as common as seeing a nice 5 in your park i dont think it will ever be played

kangaroo flips are sick and bad ass to watch. i don't think there overused i just think that its time for someone to make up a new "master" flip that wins comps. and some new grabs in the kangaroo flip would be cool... i think a truck driver would be dirty. but hard as shit i would imagine.

I think as far as competition and technically harder tricks go, yeah theres a ton of room for unnatural spins with grabs. But for innovation and being unique, I think think the future lies with double flip variations. There's so much more room for improvement and innovation, they'll keep getting more and more impressive when people do doubles with gnarly grabs. And then another step would be to do unnatural doubles, with gnarly grabs. Theres only so far you can go with out mixing in two tricks. Yes Pk's trick isn't a double flip, but it is still an on axis spin to an off axis spin.

its hard to say. they're a really hard trick that looks sweet and that most people, me included, could never get the balls to try. some pros still haven't done them. but then again, many of the top pros are throwing them and they are becoming more and more common. skiers need to mix it up a bit, because its not doing anything for anyone when a pro (not saying any names) can win tons of big air comps with the same trick. plus hes been doing them for a while, and everyone expects it. so get innovative, and try something different, even if that means just doing a different grab. everyone on this site has seen hundreds of kangaroos with japans, so mix it up.

i think that the kangaroo flip is super dope, but when jon or other skiers do it too much it gets kinda lame so idk if they do it sometimes its sick but too much no way

yo dub corks and dub flips arn't the same that's like saying a cork 7 and a dspin 7 are the same or a flat 5 adn a rodeo5.....dub corks are they way to go for sure

They're not overrated. I've seen way more switch tens than kangaroos. I'm tired of switch tens unless its really tweaked out. I wanna see some more variety though like different grabs and spins. octo grab would be sick or daffy with grab When Jon does one it's still crazy cause he does them perfectly and sooo smooth.

Jon Olsson is an amazing skier, and him coming out with the Kang flip was a good thing, now that he's coming out with the Hexo and Dj flips, it just makes him that much better for pushing the limit. If you can do a kang, good for you, if you can't then don't hate, they are getting kinda old for sure, but they are still one of the most difficult tricks. I can't do one, don't think i will, but when you see one in person, its fuckin impressive

did someone you know just die or something.  snowboarders have been shredding jumps and such for much longer.  and you are looking at the wrong place, look at skiers on the halfpipe or a slopestyle course.  they are way doper.

well my opinion is that double flips are gonna be more crowd pleasers, like the backflip is today. the dub-corks and sick spins are the new podium tricks.

yeah i think its pretty played, there are so many people throwing them its just not that cool anymore, id much rather see a steezed out rodeo 9 or something, the doubles just look like comp steeze shit, and comp steeze sucks.
it would be cool if people started throwing them with different grabs and shit, but still i just think they are ugly.
i really hope skiing is gonna get past its techy ballsy phase and go towards a more creative fun steezy phase, kinda like snowboarding right now, and since skiing always seems to be right behind snowboarding i think that phase is coming soon.

Kangaroo flips are real overrated, no shit!

I told my friend they were, but he didn't agree. We were at this water jump, and i though why not try it and prove him it's easy... So I tried, and landed it first try! Seriously, a very easy trick...

And since it's easy and people don't do it with too any different grabs, and with not nearly as much style as many other tricks (which ain't dub flips), i don't think it's very impressive...

theres not as much hype as there used to be, but doesnt change the fact that theyre still a ridiculous trick confined to really good skiers. no matter what people say, double flips and corks are where progression is going. but like everything else, theyre gonna get way steezier as time goes by.

I agree with you, if people were able to them with tails, kangoroos would be so much sicker cus who wants to see 25 people doing the same double flip and doing it the same way.... props to Andreas and Kalei for doing them with mutes and criticals.
