grabbing while you spin

i haven't really tried this much this year cause i'm just beginning to stomp 3's and i just had never thought of trying to grab doin 180's. It's got into my head now and i've tried it once this week and found it hard as hell to grab.

Anyone else have this problem when they first started to grab. I think i need a lot more air to be able to grab, whats your diagnosis for grabbing and spinning. What are easy grabs to do while spinning and what are hard?

When you grab it slows down the rotation down a lot and thats why you are having trouble. Just make sure are looking while you rotate. The easiest grab is a saftey (right hand to right ski just beside the boot or the same thing with your left hand) Just keep practicing. After you get your 3s with a saftey down. Move on to harder graps such as lui kang, tai pai and mute.

The first grab I did with a 180 was a lu kang because I didn't know what safty was... and now that I do I find that doing a toixc is even easer because u just grab right after u get into the air then tweek it on your spin. Makes the grab look good and the spin smoooth.
I failed my gr7 LA-spelling class, so I don't give a F*ck if I spelt some thing wrong.

rotate with your shoulders not arms because when u bring them in u have to slow your rotation

the best way to learn is to start small. go find a small jump that doesnt intemmidate you at all and do a 180, but bring your knees up so your skis are right below your hand. once you can do that you can start grabing and then start doing them in 360s. you just have to learn to bring your skis up so it doesnt take a lot of work to get the grab

wouldnt grabbing help u spin faster? since u have to be compact in order to reach your skis

Nope it totaly stalls you out. Think of a 360 tail grab. You stop looking over your left shoulder and look right and grab right, totaly counter-acting your rotation.

well see its hard to hold a grab down while u spin... but if you just kinda grab it for about a 180 rotation or a bit less its not that hard to pull off... i suggest throwing in a safety grab first.. its the easiest.

just set the spin and get the grab

if you think about grabbing firts, it will sucks ass.. when yiou think about grabbing after the setting, you'll be able to grab from the firt 90 to the landing.

i know that ive just started 3's but it has seemed so hard to get a grab in. either i do the 3 and forget the grab of i get the grab but i dont spin

first before u learn to grab, you have to learn to get more air on 3,s i only grab if im atleast 4ft of the ground. anyways i need help on grabing tail, i got mute and saftey down, but when i try tail i fall on my ass.

yeah my solution is to hit big jumps and get a lot of air...if u try it all sketch with no air it seems really hard, but when u float 3s and u have a lotta time to grab its not that hard, specally tails or toxics, mutes are kinda tough

corked180, when you take off the ramp try to tip down the tip of the ski that you're going to grab the tail. that way, you won't have to lean back to try and grab the tail, thus making you land on your ass or back.

remember, take-off=>bring up knee=>tip down the front of the ski tip=>grab right behing your ass and you'll feel the good o'l feeling of the tail!

and arch your back (push your hips forward). looks stylee and it'll keep you from falling back.
