Bootfitting Online

Normally I would argue Bootfitting online is a bad idea but there is demand at least to be pointed in the right direction. This is my idea to help those with bootfitting experience give some guidance. Following is two diagrams, one of each of my feet. They include the sole length, width at toe end, width at heel, arch height, and instep height. Hopefully this information can give the bootfitters a better idea of what they are dealing with. It should be possible to gain some idea of foot shape from the drawing. Any wierdness to the foot shape should show up.

Feedback especially from a bootfitter would be good, i.e do you think this idea could work, what other information would be useful? Can you tell my foot shape from this information?

It's very hard to trace your foot accurately. Just go to a good shop.

yeh i am aware of that! and going to a shop is always best.. but im making the point that it is a) not always possible and b) there is demand for some online guidance. if it is not possible to tell anything from this diagram then fair enough.. but i think it will be possible to tell some things.

i think it's a good idea, very much so for people like me who don't have a bootfitter within a 200 mile radius and no roads out of town.

for people who dont live in a twon with a lot of shops  thi idea could be really usefull.

knowing what the foot looks like can help direct people to boots that COULD fit and would be worth to try. It would also save the buyer time by telling him wich boot prolly wouldnt fit and  make him search for other boots.

Ex: Mr. A who lives in Amqui is interested in buying a pair of good all moutian + park boot. His only sport shop is only selling  boots that are under 300$ retail. In order to try some good boots he'll need to drive a couple hundred km  to try a couple decent boots and even more to try some more specific boots like the kryptons and fulltilts. Someone who fitted a couple people in the said boots could help him decide if it's worth it to drive  a couple more hours to try boots that may or not fit.

that makes sense to me and I helped a few friends from back home who werent able to buy bootrs in a shop nearby due to the limitation of the models avalable by  a procedure like this one. It helped them decided wich shops to drive to  by knowing wich botos he was interested in would actually have a chance of fitting his foot.

OK, fair enough. I still couldn't tell you what will fit though. No one fits boots by numbers.

I'd like to know when if your foot had your body's weight completely over it when you traced your feet?
Another 3mm in width would eliminate a stack of boots

i think with all my weight on one foot then yeh it might be a little wider.. which boots does that eliminate?.. even though this was only meant as an example I am actually looking for some freestyle boots to replace my old Xwaves (which don't fit too well)..
