am i crazy or should goggles just be called a goggle and shouldnt be refered to as a pair of goggles seeing as it is just one thing. why goggles? why do you need lenses for your goggles shouldnt it just be i need a lense for my goggle?? haha what do u think

i think that you are making this way too complicated then it should be....its not like they can change the word people will still refer to them as goggles

Maybe its because they cover two things?  Like pants, you put TWO legs through, glasses allow you to see better through BOTH of your eyes, and goggles protect BOTH of your eyes.  And on scissors, each blade is a scissor.  Therefore a PAIR of scissors. 
Just an educated guess.

were you just really bored one day and spaced out cause i have never thought about anything like that but i think its just how people started pronouncing it cause check out my new goggles sounds better then check out my new goggle
