NS Greeting Gone Wrong...

so I saw someone in the lift line who i'd never spoken to before with an ns sticker on there helmet, so i walked up to them and kindly asked them "how do u get to chads from the bottom of alta" and they just gave me the blankest look ever and replied "i have absolutly no idea" so i kind of spoke to them in a harsher tone about how they fail and dont even know an ns greeting yet they have an ns sticker on their helmet. So next time i see them i'll try the greeting again and let u know how that goes.

^ thats really not that much, my other account has like 8000 and im really not on that often, maybe a few times a week... what ive learned... people who post a lot in ski gabber are fuckin gay, and i would not want to ski with most people on newschoolers anyways, just ski with people who are cool, even if they dont have 'supercool' twintip skis and even if there a gaper. ive met way more cool gapers than i have freestyle skiers.

haha this thread is mess, i skied with the kid all day today so quit yer crying about "OMGZ NOT EVERYONES LIFE REVOLVES AROUND NS?!!?!?!" cause i dont really give a fuck, i tried the greeting it didnt work, 2 days later he saw me on the chair and yelled the greeting at me, it worked

why are you getting so damn worked up???  the greeting is not supposed to be for kids who are scared to start a conversation or anything..not even really to start a conversation.  i see it as a sign of mutual respect, also as an inside joke you just want to see if other people know about.  it prolly sounds really wierd to a gaper to see two random people that dont know eachother have a perfect concise little talk, thats kinda the beauty of the joke.  its not meant to be an ice breaker or a way to start a friendship, its just a little inside joke.  stop thinking that people are unable to just say "hey, NS" just because they want to try to use the greeting.   and as for getting on the kid for not knowing NS well enough, im sure thats a joke too.  i do that all the time with people, its just a freaking joke.

some people take other peoples obsession with NS way too seriously.  why do you care how much time we spend on NS?  you say get a life, it goes both ways on this one.

So today I talked to a guy waiting for the park to open and I asked him if he was on NS. Hes like "Yeah! Im Daver_BC whats your name?" anyways we talked for a bit then he was like "have you seen that thread where you ask people if they know how to get to chad's gap from the bottom of alta?" anyways I had and long story short I decided I would ask a bunch of people with twin tips this question. Well... ultimate failure. Every one of them that I asked (this is besides all of the NSers I already knew) were like "umm are you serious?"

So true about the inside joke thing! i tried the greeting last week here in norway, and i only met one person who knew what the hell i was talking about. I'm sure a lot of people thinks i'm pretty dumb now, but who cares! i met a newschooler from norway, which i really doubted i would.

haha I met this kid that told me "ski patrol blew up chads gap". He is a good friend of mine's brother. He said it dead serious though, I don't know if he was just being really stealth or if he actually thought the ski patrol blew it up haha. It was beyond awesome.

I agree it's just an inside joke. I would be stoked if someone asked me how to get Chad's. In fact here's a sticker I made in 2 shakes of a lamb's tail. If an NSer saw this they would know what to do. And this way you don't have to yell shit out only to be looked at like you have turretes.Click for larger image
But, yeah I wouldn't use this just to meet someone. If I wanted to talk to someone and ski with them I'd just be like hey do you mind if I ski with you.
