Overdoing steeze

I'm feeling like kids are trying too hard to be steezy nowadayz.  I mean it's reall good to look relaxed when skiing but I find it funny to see kids going onto a jump with a stance  jump land and then  pose in a stance that is clearly not the stance they would  be having if they had something else to hit afertward.

I'm feeling like  kids are trying  hard to look like they arent trying and it end up not looking that natural.

i respect ced. although we had a bit of a querral in our last thread. he says exactly what he thinks and im sure its what some of you are thinking to you just dont quite have the nuts. i dont like when people change there ride away stance either it looks unnatural most the time.

can't stand when he lands.
over does it by so much.

don't get me wrong, hes amazing and has good style.
but when it comes to landing and riding away he just seems like a fucker.

We all know that Tom Wallisch bit that style from Vanular from LSS (But you guys' mouths are so far down his dick that you can't see it). Then people had to take it even further and make it look it even stupider.

forced or no, look at it like this...  i think its sick that kids are trying to make actual SKIING look good as well as tricks.



think about how many park riders have been criticized for being park rats who can't ski.  well, i bet it's pretty difficult to stomp hard and ride away if yer a sketchy backseat mutha...

yea I came to that conclusion after seing the response from that thread.


 once again I think brogan is dope I just thing the way he lands his trick look better then teh way he ride away afterward when he land switch.




I,ll have to try landing foward like he does a couple time too, that's pretty fucked up

think about it... all these fools try to land and stand straight up with hands to the side but lets see these kids jump off something into powder and land like that. Once these lil kids that think they be dunny from the block realize they are skiers and even more so that there is so much more to skiing than just lapping the park and sliding urban rails then they will realize how unpractical their over steeze is,

go to park city and see the 100 kids that throw ugly ass tricks but can land like the best of em, shits a joke... its fucking skiing and the mtns and snow, come on now lil herbs

oh yea, and the homie saying tom copied his style from vanular and what not... NO SHIT, but i think hands down the most copied skier out there is liam... watch his segments from earliest level 1 flicks to last years and take a look.... he was so ahead of his time with landing all ill, enough said

it might just be that brogan has so much steeze that people think it's fake. the kid oozes steeze whenever he rides and he's been that way for a long time. what's wrong with looking good while you ride???

Be Yourself...It's not about what tricks you can throw, or what you look like, It's about having fun, don't try to be something or someone you're not.

I wear baggy clothes when I ski, but that doesn't make me the stereotypical wanna-be thug, it's simply cuz I find it comfortable, if tight pants were comfy for me, I'd wear tight pants. I wear a bandana because it's an effective way to keep the wind out of my face, not because I wanna look gangsta. (i mean I won't wear any gaper stuff though)

The stance I ski in is the stance most comfortable and fun to ski in for ME, not for anyone else, you shouldn't ski for others, you should ski for yourself, and no one else. It's all about going to have fun on the mtn with your friends, and chilling with a beer afterwards and laughing together about stuff that happened on the mtn that day.

although brogan's ride aways may look unnatural, im going to guess that 95% of you have never ridden with him. Well the kid is insane, everything is so natural, its not like he is having a sketchy landing then popping up and trying to look steezy, the kid stomps everything and thats just what he looks like while stomping.

Apart from the point, I think everyone should have their own style and not try so hard to imitate tanners style or tom wallischs style. Its unique style that ppl like stefan thomas and mik D are doing so well with sponsorships and movies and stuff

You, friend, are what sucks with the world lately. Why on earth would you flame someone for saying Hi, and asking if they wanted to do a run with them. WE are skiers, we all share a love for this sport. That right there is a hell of a lot more to have in common with someone saying hello while passing in the street. When someone says hey in the streets, you dont go " who the fuck are you and why are you talking to me...look at your gear, that shits haggard. get some style then see about talking to me, ass" so why would you do it to a fellow skier. Grow up, get some social skills, get over yourself, eat a balanced breakfast, then come back on NS and make a constructive post.

wow i cant believe were all aguing about steeze.
yes kids are trying to look when they ski, is  that a problem, there not changing there tricks in the air or anything there just tryin to land it without effort to make it look as clean as possible
no one wants to see someone come soaring down with there arms in the air then land and sketch out.
and ALLDAY EVERYDAY brogan rides like that no matter what it is so dont call his steeze fake.

Funny too that everyone getting criticized are the same people who are getting play in the industry and nearly all who are criticizing aren't getting shit, or going anywhere...

Jon Brogan does not fake an ounce of his steeze. Most skiers turn on their steeze when they get to the mountain, get on there skis, and, well, go skiing.  Jon Brogan is steezin 100% of the time, all the time.  I mean, he is steezin when he eats cereal in the morning, when he gets on the bus for school, when he is having sex, or reading a book.  During all parts of his day he has his tall t on, hands curled,knees bent at a perfect 120 degree angle.

Jon Brogan does not move, he does not even hover (as some believe).  He stands still in a perfect position, as the entire rest of the world moves around him.

i am going to assume that your sean jordan, the same sean jordan who also has edit posted by the same kid as the one who posted brogans edit on that site. You and brogan both kill it without a doubt but you both on some of your switch landings readjust yourself quickly. by readjust i mean drop one shoulder and put your hands low and poles in the air. it looks steezy its just not how you landed. I think thats all ced is trying to get across here. you can hate me and call me out all you want but thats how it is

What is so wrong with having some style? Honestly, I think Brogan ride away's are sick. I don't ride with the kid, but I think its sick how he rides it out after stomping something. I would have to assume he doesn't do this after some sketch landing or something.

Also as far as people "biting" styles. Everyone bites styles from others. Every kid in the park wants to look smooth, stylie, and generally "gangster." There is nothing wrong with this, its jsut kids feeding off of other kids.

exactly. steeze = style + ease which means it has to look really natural and stylish and easy (no shit?). steeze isn't any exact technique, it's just looking really good doing whatever your doing.

This is exactly the case! I've been riding/filming with him the last couple weekends and it's just natural. He's pretty much one of the nicest kids i've met on the hill and he's just out there having fun. He's not trying to emulate anyone, he's just being himself.
