if you want a quality box buy lexan and mount metal rails on the side. But it doesn't matter and I don't care so either of those would work man. Just go to a park? what kind of shity response is that.

Use Pvc for the rails on the side. the point of a backyard box is so you can hit it over and over without your skis takeing the toll of a regular metal rail. make a box they are real easy to make I made a twelve footer today. in like 5 hours and I got a sweet box. The money to pay for the matierials is a little harder to deal with.....

if you have a hockey rink near you, go ask them and they usually have some scrap puck board lying around. that stuff is pretty thick and doesn't crack easily at all(made to get hit with pucks :) and yeah it slides nice. you can countersink it and everything.

^you mean plexiglass. yes it slides well. plexiglass is less durable, but much more cheap than lexan...

well see it's different then normal plexiglass. it's softer and not as brittle(i know almost the same thing) but if you go to a store and buy regular plexiglass it might not be as solid.

we just made a lexan box a couple weeks ago.

very slippy... but also very expensive. its so hard to drill through the lexan though, since its so thin. even countersinking them is a little sketchy. we used gorilla glue to hold it on, and its worked well so far.
