here is my story, I have nothing better to do then to share it with you fine people. about two weeks ago i got very sick and wasn't able to eat but it was 3 days before i went on my big trip to colorado. I couldn't eat couldn't sleep but i still went skiing just didn't tell anyone how bad it was. It was my first time traveling alone and after phycing myself so much up for the competion in aspen i thought i had just made myself sick from nerves. So the day arives and its time for me to drive to the airport its about a 2 hour drive. I got two severe bloody noses and had to change my clothes but still went to the plane. I fly to denver all the flights get cancled and i get stuck there for 9 hours. I waited for my coach to come get me witch took about 5 hours. after the 6 hour drive to aspen im feeling better and a tad more relaxed, i throw up again anyways.
That first day I feel like I have a bad hangover but go skiing anyways at Buttermilk in aspen witch was by far the best day of skiing ive had in a while everyone from the aspen open was there meaning yay i got to check out my competion. I start getting really light headed after a few session of jumps beause i hadnt really kept food in my stomach for about 5 days but i ski with all guys so i didnt wanna whine and be a bitch. we eat lunch and i just get sicker but it was only some soup so i didn[t throw it up. my condintion just got more and more downhill but i liked skiing that day so i kept at it. two runs before the end of the run i wasn't able to hit the jumps my legs werent strong enough for the landing and i start like falling over so i decide its time to go home.
i start getting really sick again on the way home but toughen it out that night we hit up a hot spring and im feeling a little better. the next day i feel good we head up to snowmass the jumps were prime, at the first time we hit the jumps i jsut feel terrible almost passing out so we made 4 runs and i decide i can't ski anymore, i didn't eat dinner the night before just tried to get some fries and a milkshake down, threw up cause its what i do. so by that time my coach knows something was up so he drops me off at the hospital.
They took a urine sample witch was real cool cause i couldn't pee cause i was so dehydrated but when i finally did thank god, they imidiantly put me in a gown and stuck an ivy in my arm and took a blood sample i was good then pretty healthy feeling wanted to go ski more, then i got sick again and start dry heaving(nothing in mah tummy) waited for 3 hours and the doctors still dont know whats up then i take an ultrasound witch was painful, wait another hour to hear that my liver and my splein and possibly my gullbladder are fucked the hell up. another 3 hours and they ask me if i have a sore throat and i said no but my glands are swollen, turns out i have mono and if i had skiid for another day or two my splein would have burst and my liver could go into toxic shock. said i couldnt ski for 21 days can't get out of bed for two weeks. im feeling good today i go get a blood test tomorrow and im hoping i can ski tomorrow but its only been 4 days. send me the good vibes i dont want to miss the queens cup!
