Upping your post count

I am on this site a lot.  I took a semester off and have a lot of free time on my hands.  so I post a lot more than I used to, I joined this site in like 2004 or something and I think most of my posts are like in the last 2 months.  i try to keep my posts helpful, or at least slightly humorous though.

I recognize a lot of people on this site since I've been going to it for so long.  kinda makes me sad when someone I thought was really funny disappears (wheres D-loc?)  I keep coming back because NS keeps me updated with tons of cool shit, things that are funny, new trends, etc.  and its a good place to go to for advice or tips or whatever (or if not, a bunch of sarcastic responses that might make me laugh)

but some people I just do not recognize.  they have like 4k posts, but I couldnt remember one of them.  this could be because they post in other sections.  but it makes me wonder...

how many people spam some dead cult to up their post count?  this is really lame because my post count often makes me feel like I spend too much time on this site, which I do.  I dont really get why people think having a high post count equals...well I dunno what they think it equals, e-respect or something?  nothing against those with big post counts.

...I use the site every so often, and this particular thread caught my attention. As far as my other posts go, I typically contribute to subjects I'm knowledgeable about in hopes of providing a fresh idea. More importantly, before I post I ask myself 'will the NS readership benefit from my response?' After all, Nobody likes a post whore.

some people think post count is good so when thy meet people at mountains, they are well know and stuff. its an interesting concept but its not about what people think of u online

haha no but seriously, i know what you mean. i post whored the shit out of here like a few summers ago, it was all relevant, but honestly i had to post in every thread i clicked on, and now i dont do that i just click and then go back.
