I don't know if it's on the national news or not, but southern California is burning. The Santa Ana winds are blowing. They dry the hell out of everything and trigger fires at this time every year, but it usually isn't this bad. Sustained winds of 50-60 mph, gusts to 90, and hot as hell. Across town in Castaic there were sustained winds clocked at 108 mph. Fucking rediculous. The biggest of all the fires in southern California was literally across the street from me last night, and several of my friends had to evacuate their homes. Pretty scary. It's currently at 35,000 acres, and the winds aren't supposed to even start to die down until tomorrow night. Check out this map- http://santa-clarita.com/news/fire-maps.asp.
