i need to bend my fks that i used last season to fit my fatter new skis. they were only on like an 86mm waist last year so i just bent them out without doing the whole dissasembly thingy. the brakes were bent backwards multiple times on switch landings and such so i'm not sure if theyll hold up for another bending. anyone else had a similar experience? is it safe to bend them?
If they've already been bent back a few times there's definitely a good chance they'll snap if you do a re-bend. But if they need to go on the new skis you might as well give it a shot and see what happens, I don't see a huge problem as long as you end up with at least one brake on each ski. Bend slow.
The room temperature and torch work best. I was bending mine at night when it was cooler out, and one snapped. Leaving them in the sun helps, and heating evenly with a torch helps too. I got mine bent successfully, so if you have any more questions, feel free to ask.
