Im depressed

i realized that i have fucked off in school every year ive had it (im now a junior). im really worried about whats going to happen in later life. im gonna end up going to a community colege and life is gonna suck.


is there anything i can do to help my cause i really want to turn things around

you have to acknowledge that the only person that can turn your life around is you. so get off your ass and start thinking. go talk to your guidance coach/counceller, they're there for a reason.

dude community college is not that big a deal.  you go there one year and get good grades, then transfer.  not a biggie.  classes are generally easy too

I'm an 11th grader too and I feel that I could have done better too. I'm doing my best to turn that around now and thus far it's working...or not.
FUCK WHY AM I ON NS??? I have 3 tests and an essay and a presentation due tomorrow. Dammit.

I'm with you man. I did so well in K-8th and freshmen year I screwed around. soph year I started to work more and I did better, and this year I'm trying but fucking dammit H physics and a fucking 60. aagagaghaga. and my parents don't in anyway make me feel better when I get a shit grade, I just get yelled at for it. fuck, like that really helps! what I'm trying to say is I know where you're coming from, and this year has been hard as hell and I have no fuckin idea where I'm going life or what I want to do. I know I want to ski, but shit that's not going to take me anywhere at this point.

man be glad you realized that now. I on the other hand did great freshmen and sophmore, then I moved started too many drugs and drinking, ended up failing senior year, had to work full time for a year, and now I am in college. There is so much shit you can still get done, maybe you aren't ready for college yet, maybe you do need to take a year off after senior year, and actually sit the fuck down and decide what you really want for YOUR LIFE. how old are you 16/17-there's way too many years ahead of you to get bummed out now man. And also, you have to realize college may not actually be for you, as much as our society pushes education on us, it isn't for everyone. you need to find what makes you happy. But in the meantime, get your nose in the books. And keep your head up. I hope that helps.

I'm in the same position as you man, I fucked around the first two years and now that I have to get serious shit is just to hard. I dont know any of the stuff we learned in grade 9 and 10 and I have really bad homework and study habits. I do alright in school but I rarely do homework or study, I always put it off untill later and then never end up doing it. I'm doing a bit better now, but I really wish I tried harder earlier on in high school.

is there anything you can do to turn it around?  You already have started by aknowledging.   Schools are good, any school is good.  If you haven't decided what career you want to pursue in life. Make sure you get a little bit of everything (education wise) 

Then in your employment, find ways to cross train and learn the other persons job while doing an exceptionally good job with your primary responsibilities.  Remember, it's more about your desire to increse your ability to learn and grow rather than whether you have gone to some school or not.  I have met many a book smart person who didn't have a lick of common sense. Recogniziing where you are at now and addressing the situation is common sense!  You will do just fine!

yeah, my study habits are shit. seriously terrible and this is the first year it's made a difference. I know I'm a pretty bright student, which is probably why I didn't have to do much the last few years to do decently. (not amazing, just average) and now when I need to step it up I don't know how.

don't worry dude, you're only a junior. commmunity schools are totally chill cuz a lot of in-state universities save spots for community college students, like the university of washington for example. I wouldn't worry just yet. I am a junior in college and don't even know what i want to do with my life when i graduate. just stop smoking weed, drinking and fucking around on newschoolers and sit down an focus on your schoolwork. you still have 2 more years.

I love how everyone thinks they're going to go to Yale and are appalled at the suggestion that they might be relegated to community college. Newsflash: the majority of people don't go to good schools and they do okay, it doesn't mean your life is going to suck.

I sure as hell am not going to Yale, even if I wanted to, and I really do not want to go to the community college 10 minutes from my house. I'll find a happy medium somewhere.

i did really well in high school, but that doesn't mean i am at a ivy league school or any of that. i'm at a state university where they will let in just about anyone. from there though i did manage to get into one of the top optometry schools in the country. on the other hand, a friend from home who didn't do well in high school went to michigan state, then because he had no discipline from earlier in life he flunked out after a year with a .75 gpa and went to a community college for the next 3 years, all while his dad was paying for everything. and after 4 years of college, he realized that he is not going to use any of that and is now planning on going to a culinary arts school...

so the point is life never ends up where you might think. but don't worry at all about being depressed right now. there is so much time to change things around, you jsut have to be proactive. but at least once you can ski you will be depressed less.

I did really well my freshman and sophmore year but then I transfered to a harder school and really fucked up. I was so depressed but then I realized that being depressed wasnt gonna solve nething so I just manned up and did better the second semester of junior year.
    Stop smoking weed for a while and things will come back. Luckily i got diagnosed with ADD and Dyslexia so I got help from Adderal too, if you can get some it works wonders. Communtiy college really isnt that bad, you can basically get into any school you want if you get good grades and then transfer.
