making your own stickers

ever look through your ski mag and see company logos and stuff and say shit they would be cool if it was a sticker? well now you can make them stickers. its very simple, this is what you will need
-a role of that heavy duty crystal clear packaging tape
-a razor knife and scissors
-wax paper

cut out whatever you want to use for a sticker. lay it down on a piece of wax paper bigger than the image. cover the image with the packaging tape, really well. take your scissors(or razor knife for exact cuts) and cut out about a half inch to an inch around the entire image. remove from wax paper, voila a perfect and original sticker to compliment your skis with. later.

Shit, I mean so the tape doesnt stick to the table or whatever your working on. Notice how most stickers have a waxpapery type paper that they are on when you get them.

double sided tape wouldnt work at all. Dirt and other junk would stick to it.

I think he means using double sided tape on the bottom of the picture. that way the 'sticker' would stick solidly to the tape and then the tape to the ski. You would still have to put clear mailing tape on the top of it to protect it, but it would stick a lot better.






I feel bad for people who don't drink, cause when they wake up in the morning, thats the best the're going to feel all day

Go to your local craft store. They have these things called XYRONs. My mom used to be a sales person for them. You can get all kinds off cartridges for them: Hi-tack adhesive, Lo-tack adhesive, one-side laminate, 2-side laminate, and a laminate/adhesive combo. You just stick a picture in there, turn the handle and it comes out the back a sticker. The Hi-tack is the shit, once you stick it to something, nothing will get under it. There sick, check 'em out.

well if you cut it out of like a mag its not waterproof, so on your skis would be no good. and also the wax paper is so it doesnt stick and so you dont touch the sticky part of the tape cuz it makes big nasty fingerprints that are there forever. my skis are decked out with all these stickers and they have been for all last season, they work great.

thats what i said to use, clear packing tape. and ive found that if you have skis that arent capped and you put a few layers of the packing tape down the edges of the topsheet, it prevents those nasty nicks that can peel up and expose the core if they are bad enough.
