Durr, I misread you before. I thought you thought I was planning on doing this Monday, but you meant you will be studying for an exam that occurs Monday. Haha.
I'm only doing Bluemont if it DUMPS. they keep saying 18" plus possible, so odds are good on wanting to do this, but as I said, I also will NOT do this solo as it seems high-risk and dangerous to do solo.
Thats ok though, it will just make it dense. Hopefully it will keep rocks and logs from sneaking up on you from under the snow, because it sucks when that happens.
Happened to me today at KB, the bowl next to the terrain park, I hit a water run-out and slammed down hard. lol, I got that pre-concussion thing, where you want to fall asleep... and I drove all the way back to UB, in snowy roads... oh well.
On a worse note - it ain't snowin up here at UB, where we're supposed to get like 8-18 inches. We got maybe 2, or 3... I hope it's going better south of me, I know it was at 10PM tonight at Colden, I was there.
Bluemont was slayed and surveyed by Bucky, Trevor and I this afternoon. Snow wasn't the best as it was ultra dense, windpacked shit, but that hill is fun. Some real good steeper shit for sure.
Awesome spot at the very bottom for a huge booter into a super steep landing.
We got one run, and skied down the face. We left one car at the bottom, and hiked in from the east side. Pretty damn tiring even that way, I'd hate to try to go straight up the front.
The snow was deep enough, but rather thick and dense, so it was hard to really ski well, so we didn't check out the trees. We also found a SICK line at the bottom that I want to ski, and an amazing spot for a booter right at the bottom.
Hoping for some good march snow to pull it off.Crossing my fingers on later this week Friday into Saturday for a good storm which is showing signs of potential.
Oh, and this place, when you're standing at the top looking down to the base, has WAY more height that HV does. It's a long way to the bottom from the top. Pretty awesome terrain and a shame the original plans didn't work out, because it would've had a lot to offer.
Haha I like how in that picture it says good for hunting. Good thing hunters weren't out otherwise Bucky would have been mistaken for a bear and gotten shot down!
depending on how much snow we get out of this storm, i might check it out with some friends with snowmobiles on sunday....if all goes well, i cant wait
