Short term residence at Whistler for a poor college kid? Need shelter from homeless crackheads that might take advantage of me.

Looking to plan a trip to Whistler this winter during Jan/Feb. Anyone know the best deal for a week or so stay?
Location/price valued highly over comfort. I can rough it if it means I'll be able to afford a few extra days on the hill. Hell, ive considered driving and sleeping in my car, or renting a camper for a mighty road trip and free lodging on site (would there be anywhere to park a camper nearby? Prob have fees out the ass) I've also considered camping out, but I dunno how I'd do in a potential january blizzard in whistler for a week. I'd probably die.
If someone had a shed/bomb shelter/porta-potty/ditch/etc that I could sleep in, that'd be cool too. I'd get you blazed.
Lemme know what youd recommend. Leaning towards the camper idea, but I have no idea yet on how much it would cost to rent one for a week, let alone gas. But if we had 4-5 people going itd prob be worth it. Will work on finding out.
I thank you in advance for the secret knowledge that you will have bestowed upon me.

Also, I saw that a season pass there is only $500 for people 18 and under vs $1300 for adults.
I'm 19, but i could get a fake that says im 18...good idea? Jesus, mkes me want to take a semester off school and go bummin in BC. God, the choices that plague me. I'd prob lose my scholarships or some stupid shit though...

Haha, Jesus. It'd be a nearly 3000 mile drive from my place to whistler (one way).
Considering it looks like RVs average 9 miles per gallon, I'd be looking at 666 gallons of gas round trip. Ignoring the fact that this is the number of satan, it also equals about $1800. And my car (30 mpg) would cost me $550 gas.
NEWSFLASH: Round trip airline tickets are running $650 a person. With 4-5 people going, thats $2600-$3200... RV idea is back in the game.

Hm. Highly prefer cheap/value over comfort? You could stay at West Hastings

I live in fucking Knoxville, TN. Would be annoying as hell to drive to Ohio to catch a plane.

and it'd only save $200. Would prob spend nearly that much on gas/airport parking.

yah if I was you I'd do the camper or car thing... there are many places to stay around there ... day lot 4 would probably be the best.. there are lots of people who live in their trucks and stuff there... plus you can hit up the free showers and spas at any of the hotels around town.. I recommend legends or first tracks for free use of bbq, pool, hot-tubs, showers, steam rooms, saunas and anything else.. its just a short fence hop away.
