I just got really frustrated so im going to vent to NS. Im a senior in highschool and im tired of what my family believes is the proper way to live. I mean dont get me wrong i love my family i get to have some awesome experiences, but i dont want a "normal" life. I dont really care if i go to a great college, i dont care if i finish school in 4 years, frankly i dont care if i finish school. I dont care about a great job in the real world. I just want to enjoy life. Im tired of stressing over hw and grades because when it all boils down to it im not even doing the work for myself. I would be so content living in the mts skiing and biking and hiking all my life and really enjoying life.
then move where you can do that, work a low paying job and just make enough to get by and do the things you love. i'm still enjoying life by going through college and doing something that i will enjoy as a career and still be able to ahve a family and do the things that i live for. when it comes to my life i risk a lot, but i don't like risking things tha ti don;t have any control over. by going to school and all that i'm kind of getting a form of security in case the worst does happen. my advice is just, tell your parents how you feel. take a year off after highschool and go try living on your own out there somewhere. but i definitly recommend college at some point as it is the greatest experience ever.
ya dude i feel you. i totally could not go to college and work at mcdonalds... dont kid yourself man, to make it in todays world you need to live through all the crap that people expect of you. the days where you can have no college education and make millions of dollars are over...
i mean i thin everybody wants that but the irony is that the only real way to get any of that dream is to have a pretty good job which requires going to a pretty good school. just realize that plenty of people dont finish school and those people typically dont look back on the great life they have had. hard work has big rewards even though its hard and stressful and kinda sucks sometimes
my mom fuckin flipped on me yesterday and i realized i dont give a shit how much money i make or wut kinda car i drive, as long as im having fun nothing else matters.
i know thats the thing no matter how much "crap" i live through, and trust me i live through alot of crap, i will need a college education to live a decent life, i dont like it and struggle to accept it, but its the truth. I do know that i will most likely get through college, but i still dont know where to go for what i want to study, Ive been really interested in avalanche forecast since a recent trip it seems like an enjoyable perfession, but i know nothing about the education needed
take a rediculously easy major in college and just ski. go live out west or something. college is definitely going to be a blast, especially if you have a slacker major or something. college is fun too ya know. and go from there. who knows maybe your views will change by then?
yeah really... college is such a fun experience in itself. i love college even though it has responsibilities that go along with it....don't forget about the females
