So today I was at the pool, crosstraining for skiing, like I usually am when Im not working or schoolin, and some person steals my wallet and phone out of my shorts in my locker. Now while this is good for them in theory, perhaps they didn't really think this through. Or perhaps they did.
Now unless Im forgetting something, they really can't do anything with any of my possessions. They have my drivers license, which I will have voided, I immediately voided my credit cards, and my cell phone cannot be reactivated by anyone but myself. I did have $3 in my wallet. And I did have a subway sandwhich card with a free 6 inch sub on it.
To the best of my knowledge though, theres not much they can do with what they have. I am potentially worried about identity theft, but don't think there is too much risk since my cards will all be changed. So I ask myself, why do they go through all that trouble, for nothing really...I hope they at least have a good sandwhich on me.

Generally, people desperate enough to steal someones wallet and phone arent the brightest to begin with, judging from their presumed state of finances.

They're not smart, which is why they thieve. If they were smart, they wouldn't need to thieve, because they would already have a good paying job. Simple.

phiones can be unlocked even after you cancel em, or you can just put a new cdell sim card in. also for that hour or 2 between when it got stolen and when you cancelled it, he easily could have run up a huge bill at a shop.

Yeah but look at all the inconvenience they caused you in having to
Get a new licence (2 weeks)
Get new credit cards (2 weeks)
and any other one-off identifications you had

not to mention the lose of the 6 inch. that's the most concerning thing, what if that was the only thing you could have had to eat for the day.

I'm sure he'd just change the sim card on your phone, so basically you lost a wallet, had to be inconvenienced by canceling all your cards, and lost a phone.

Call your phone, and when the jackass picks up, just say, "Hey man, where are ya?" Maybe he's dumb enough to answer you without thinking.
