no its not, a muffin in england is a small cake sort of thing with bits of fruit, nuts or chocolat in it. You dont have it for breakfast, it is a tea (5pm) food.
also, that trick was named the english muffin long ago . . . people like rod adams and clint fiala were doing a double-grab daffy at the superfly slopestyle at dodge ridge in 1998, and they were calling it an english muffin. it's kind of like the lincoln loop: someone did it long ago and named it, then it went dormant for while, and then people started doing them again and kept the old name.
thank god i saw nooks and crannys!! nooks and crannys are all the air holes inside of an english muffin! so the butter sits in there and you have pockets of deliciousnessss
