same herrr. our teacher is fucking crazy and does shit so we get like perfects on the final exam, but ive heard elsewhere that its not that bad.
talk to kids at your school and see what they thought about the teacher. if they dont refer to him/her as a "psycho hose beast", you should be clear
I took it my sophomore year and it was a joke. I skipped test days and dude was old and didnt make me make em up. We watched Gone with the wind, rudy, and dances with wolves for our cirruculum. but like i dont know anything about what a real class would be, if your smart take it and take on the challenge
i think it depends on how the teacher is. at my school it wasn't all that hard, we were just supposed to read alot. its not super hard though, i read probably a total of 200 pages out of a like 1200 page book still got out with wit ha 3 on the AP test
I hear it's hard as hell. Kids in my school are always bitching about it. I love regular history, barely any homework and when I have some it's five minutes to do, and easy tests=A+ average!
AP US=Tons of tests and tons of reading every night=C+ woooo!
if your school has a running start program wait to take any sort of history/government(political science) class till you can take it through ur community college. so much easy ie no busy work and you will actually learn something and be able to form opinions for yourself. be a learned man
mine was really easy. We only had these big packets of homework to do for every chapter but one kid had his sisters from a different year so we just copied them. I got a 1 on the AP test though. Even if I would have done well, the college credit is worthless anyway. Nobody needs history classes in college except history majors but it probably won't even count for that.
I'm almost done with it. The course is taught by a guy with the attitude that if we fail its our problem, so on any given day that I want it to be, the class itself is a joke, seldom true elsewhere. That aside, its not easy. The material you have to learn and the time you have to learn it can be stressful, and you need to work and spend a lot of time outside class learning the material to get a good grade on the AP test. If you got recommended it would be worth it for you though. Go for it.
I'm doing it as a sophmore. Pretty fucking hard class, AP test is going to be manly. As long as you actually put a lot of effort into it, it'll work out for you. But seriously, what you put into it comes out.
there is nothing on the AP test about incas and aztecs. It starts with the colonization of the US like the ohter guy said. If your teacher chooses to teach about incas and aztecs, well thats his deal, its not included on the test so it doenst matter
i didn't take it but a lot of my friends took it. its not that it is difficult, you just have to be willing to sacrifice a lot of time. huge packets that take days are a lot of the assignments. the last quarter for them has been just reviewing for the AP exam. if you're willing to put in the work and you need the credit for college then take it
i'm taking it now as a junior, but I know someone I met over the summer that took it as a sophmore and still got a 5. In my school it's a lot of work (for example we had a project due this past tues. after break and I have another group presentation to give next weds. but that's rare), but in the end my teacher doesn't grade too too hard. i worked hard and got an A last quarter and would be surprised if I didn't get a 5. It's hard work but in the end it's not impossible and it's worth doing.
i took ap gov as a senior this year and i regret it everyday. the work is hard but not impossible, although the kids in the class are. they are all a bunch of smart kids w/ huge egos and they argue constantly in class about anything government related, trying to look smart and intellectually(sp) own eachother
