The police said they were sweeping the school when i reality, they were sitting outside waiting and trying to contain the shooter when they shudve been sending in some swat squads to over power this dude, who only had a 9mm pistol, no body armor and was a lone shooter.
why didnt we learn after columbine that these american psychopaths are not gonna calm down and give themselves up? if theyve shot 20 people they arent gonna have remorse for the next 10. the police need to do their fuking job and realize that they have to get these fukers as soon as they appear and not try and isolate him.
im angry as hell.

The policeman who was interviewed said that they had reason to believe that the first shootings were civil disobedience and that immediately after the shootings, the shooter had left campus. Poor judgment call resulted in many more deaths.

If you actually watched the news for a decent amount of time then you would have realized that they thought he fled the campus from evidence they found inside the dorm rooms IF it was the same person. Which they still don't know. Seriously, you don't know what you are talking about.
And ya, VT has their own police force whoever was wondering, alot of schools do. Michigan State has their own and they are everywhere, you can almost always see a cop SUV (they don't drive cars..). But ya, shit like that scares me, MSU has 45000 students, thats a lot of people for shit to go down.

And it takes time to catch people, they dont know automatically who did it im sure he left and if indeed it was him he came back and killed the people in Noris Hall. I dont think you understand how cops work yes people were dying on the inside but they arent going to go in there as soon as they arrive guns blazing and asking questions later, they have to assess the situation.

So its not like in the movies were they just run in and kill the guy.A bullet proof vest doesn't make you invincible to bullets. i understand how cops work. i never said to go in guns blazing, i just think instead of trying to isolate this guy which could have let him get away, they shudve actually went in to get him. because of them trying to isolate and lockdown, instead of getting the shooter, they may have let him escape, and may have had people who were wounded lose time in the process to save them.

I just don't think it's that easy to prepare an assault on a wild shooter, none of you are cops and neither am I so I don't think you have any authority on commenting on what happened, as very little information has been released.
If cops simply run in, they're putting themselves and more students at risk...

Dude the guy shot 2 people and left, they figured it was an ISOLATED incident, thinking that was it, it was over. By the time police got the call chances are the guy was already gone the 1st time.

They didn't know much about the situation, they wanted to know what the fuck was going on before running in there and trying to kill him!
It takes time to set shit like this up jesus christ. Shootings started roughly around 9:15, I imagine at 9:20 they get there. The shooting was over at like, 9:35? The had 15 minutes to prepare, get a plan, assess the situation and take action?

So true, wh@, get your damn facts straight before you start bashing the police in a situation like this. If we use your logic, then how about this? He had 2 9mm guns, how many bullets are in a clip? I have no idea, lets say 8, thats 16 shots, that means he had to reload at least 3 times! It takes time to reload, even if not very long. There were tons of people in the building, they should have just overpowered him and stopped him. Or lets use your logic again, how about 9/11. There are like 3 terrorists on a plane with BOX KNIVES and like 100 passengers (just throwin out a number) on the plane, why didn't they rush in and overpower them? People are afraid, and they are cautious and no matter how much you THINK you could just run in an act the hero, tackle the guy or whatever, you never know what would happen in a situation like that. The police acted as fast as they could, and they weren't going to rush into the building as soon as one shot was fired even if they were prepared. They needed more information, what if he had a bomb or something? He could have killed the entire SWAT team, they aren't going to just rush in completely uninformed.

As far as we know he left campus. the 2nd shootings were 2 HOURS after the 1st, and the campus is HUGE place to search for somebody. The cops did there job, you dont assess a situation this dangerously in 15 mins.

It's their job to correctly assess a situation in the safest way possible. Yeah it's a big campus and the other shootings took place two hours later, but that's no excuse. The campus should have been shut down, all dorms on lock down and the police meticulously combing down the whole campus. They made the wrong call. Saying they thought the guy left campus is no excuse.

in one of the press conferences they said there was evidence in the dorm room that the kids were shot in showing that the attacker most likely left the campus, if not the state, which is why they only closed down the dorm.

They have a "Person in interest" that the guy DID leave and there was actually 2 seperate shooters. If you fucking watched the press confs. you would have heard that the police thought it was an isolated incident. The campus is HUGE! If they shut down the school they might have just shot down parts of the city. Who knows, if they did shut down the school and there was hundreds of people trying to redirect he could have killed even more! All I am saying is campus is like a little city and they are at as much risk as anybody else around. If there is a murder does the town go on lock down? no.

in the 2nd shooting, they did their job as far as im concerned. even if it is only one person, he has no regard for other peoples, or his own life so he would have been very hard to take out and would have probably killed more people....
but after the first shooting i think they shouldve cancelled classes. they had a half hour or hour((cant remember)) to cancel classes before they started they shouldve done this....
