**Question: Bern vs Giro

So I've got a Nine.9 Giro, size XL. I'm looking to switch to a Bern helmet, most likely the Baker.
The Nine.9 XLarge fits me, a G10 Large fits me, and a RED Hi-Fi Large fits me....
Soooo, anybody made a similar switch/have any opinions or info that would help me figure out my size in a Bern Baker?

so tempting I just have to please forgive me everyone...the Bern Baker is not a snowsport approved helmet, although they are sick at best they just keep your brains from spilling all over the snow when you crack your head open so I guess they are good because they make cleanup easier for the paramedics.

why do people wear it then...im pretty sure one of the hottest pros this year (colby west) wouldnt wear it if it wasnt safe...i dont know though you could be right

Giro will save your head in a fall.

Bern is an expensive fashion statement that wont do shit in a fall.

i'll weigh in

the hifi helmet weighs in significantly lighter than any other helmet and i love the feeling of it...it's more of a plain look as compared to the busy 14 vent look of the giro...just preference but you should decide between the RED hifi and Giro...not Bern

I was going to get a red hi-fi but they ran out of them, and i went for a bern. I'm a pussy, and here where i ski is the land of absolutely 0% pow, so i need a helmet to protect me from dings on things, so bern does the job for me, but i had a smith premise also and just hitting your head the smith definetly feels better then a bern, so if your looking for some strong i wouldn't look so much at bern as everyone said

BERN IS NOT A HELMET...i read a tag on the berns in one of my local shops and they say it does not meet any helmet safety standard...also the foam isnt hard its like spongy

well my giro has lasted a long time 9it has over 100 dents) and like 10 major dents

but the berns look better

what!?!?! you do know that once you crash and get one of these major dents you should replace it because if you hit the same spot again it wont protect you. sounds like you have been getting very lucky

the baker isnt a helmet is a hard hat. it wont protect u at ALL when i opened it it comees with a large label saying not intended for protection.. but get a xl i have it its soo comfy!!

I don't like the fact that bern is not very safe, so when I am trying shit off of 40+ kickers, it's not too reassuring, so I got the giro bad lieutenant, and it looks sick and protects my noggin, its a badass helmet. but I don't like the ear pads, so I took those out

I really don't think this should even be a question for you, honestly. I don't have experience with Bern's so I can't say from personal experience that they "suck". Just the fact that they haven't been tested and approved is reason enough for me not to sport one. If they spend the time and money to test and approve their product I will consider purchasing one of them fancy hard hats. Until then, I have seen to many people sustain serious head injuries to even consider wearing an untested product when I can get a tested one for the same price.

well i have a size small in R.E.D and i bought a medium bern earlier, and it was still to small, and the red fits perfect. adn the medium was still small.quiet small actuallyl

the smith circuit moto helmet is the most badasss helmet eva. just like the g10mx except you can lower or higher the visor for different conditions, and has a sick ass audio. definetly worth it!
