07 Chronic Blends or 06 Chronic Wide?

Hey Im debating between those 2 skis. The 07 blends are sick looking, and sound amazing but I think they would be pretty stiff? Im riding PEs right now, and can't really deal with the somewhat ganster image they put off, not to mention they no longer have pop. I was thinking about the 06' chronic wides, does anyone have experience on either ski? Thanks

I can't say I've ridden them, but in my opinion, the 2006 Chronic Wides were the ugliest ski I've seen in a while.

i think the chronics graphics were sick in 05/06, maybe because i had them, but i thought both the red and blue with skulls was dope..

I fucking love my blends for ripping it up everywhere. Not overly light but a sick ski that rips switch really really well.

I agree with everyone.. Blends no doubt. I hated them the first time I skied them... but every time there after I was in love. I have mine mounted like +5.5/6cm and the absloutely rip.
and they look a shit load better than wides.

got the blends sick ski super stiff tho so if your into buttering and litte fun mess around tricks then i dunno but for all mountain and park great ski and the blends got the double fat bases and edges not sure if the older chronic wide does but u can beat the shit outta the blends and doesn't phase them

Not correct. Here is how the BLEND is different from the WIDE:
1)Different core wood. The Blend's is lighter (Poplar in stead of Maple)
2)Different carbon pattern. The Wide had 5 thin stripes down the center, the Blend has a big fat sheet the same shape as the metal matrix in the Prophet.
3)Mount point (and thus the center of the sidecut) is further back on the Blend.
4)The Wide came in longer lenghs (above 180)
5) The ration of tip to tail widths is different on the Blend, it has a bigger tip relative to tail than the Wide did.
So, to field your original question about stiffness, I'd say the Blends are a little softer than the Wides were.

Yes, the Wides had the "fatty" base and edge as well

good analysis. im not sure if this was implied in 2) but the blend actually does have the metal matrix from the prophet series.

No it doesnt, its a carbon matrix.
Same design as the metal one though.
