270 on help

try doing your rails unatural, thats what helped me..because usually thats how your gonna land onto the rail

find a box with little to no gap on, and do them onto that. also you should be really comfy with grinding both ways. and you should probly be able to three off the ground.

and i dont understand the little to no gap thing i thought you wanted a little so youd have more time??

not all that hard, just find a super wide box spin 180 and then look at the end of the box and stomp down you will keep spinning but just go with it, it looks kinda cool if you do it with style. try doing 270s on the ground and looking at the "end" of the imaginary box. Really easy, just go for it. Best of luck!

Before you try them, play around with them on the ground. (with skis on and off) Practice spinning the 270 and imagine looking at the end of the rail. What you are trying to do is get the feeling for stopping your rotation before 3. Also make sure you can spin your 3s off of anything and have them super comfy. I recommend getting your switch ons and unnaturals dialed as well.

The first feature to try them on would be a box of some sort. (shorter and wider is better) You also don't want a very tall feature either. The most important thing is that you feel confident with that feature, as most of the trick is in your head.

Come in with enough speed to clear the lip and get onto the box, pop your spin. Look down at the box if you can do it and still remain on axis. This helps you know where you are in your rotation. Land with equal weight on both your skis and have them about shoulder width apart. From there, it's like an unnatural slide. If you're having trouble over rotating, you can try looking back up the feature as you spin to slow your rotation.

As you get more comfy with them, take them to rails. It is the same trick, you just have to be more careful about controlling your spin, as under or over rotation will give you the rail-to-crotch experience.

i have some trouble with mine too... when i spin on i usually land too far over to my heels and usually fall off. any suggestions with that?

id say try it onto a wide box first just to get urself used to it. then do it on a smaller box then a rail. make sure u spot ur landing then look at the end of the rail

ive found out that alot of it is in my head. when i was tryin to learn a 270 on i kept fuckin it up mostly not rotatin all the way. then in a comp for my final run i was like fuck it im gettin this shit so i jus hucked my self at the dog house box and commited cus i knew i HAD to do it. i landed it and it felt sick. so yea like 75% or more of the grind is in your head jus commit to it.

i 270 on into an unnatty slide- it helps to learn grinds both ways. I also feel more comfortable continuing to spin after the 270 = less pressure to hold yourself still

well it depends on which ways you spin and grind, but i spin left and slide right foot forward naturally, so that makes a left 270 into an unnatural slide for me. there are certain things you should practice, 1st would be unnatural slides as you need to be completely comfartable sliding unnatty, else it's going to be trouble. 2nd, you should be able to 360 off little bumps, else you're no going to get around. next, i good way to practice getting the feeling is to do switch on to unnatural, as that gets the feeling of coming around the way you'll be spinning and then sliding unnatural, kinda warming you up to the pop of the lip. then you just have to go for it, start on a box with a lip that's almost ride on (or ride on if you thing you can get it around). make sure you keep your hands down, as they will throw you off balance if they're up and waving all over the place. make sure to lean forward, as you have a tendancy to lean back with 270s on, a good way to prevent this while getting the feel is to lean forward while you spin. another way to get the feeling for the spin on, is find a nice wide box that's basically ride on, then huck yourself around so that you spin on top of the box (vinnie dorian and t-hall both do this on a picknick table in Front Line). good luck!

also make sure your looking down when you do it so you can see the rail/box come under you as you spin.

i learned unnatural slides after learning 270s but when you spin forget about the rail just concentrate on gettin the 270 then when u hit the rail just look at the end and u will be good

I learned my 270 off's first that helped. when I learned 270 on's I just came up like i would normally and spin it and try to land a little forward to i would slip back

i meant he should look down while learning to spin on so he knows he's actually getting around and where on the box he is, just to get the feel, cause if he takes it to a rail with knowing his nuts aren't going to be too happy.
