why are there suddenly thousands, or atleast 10 pairs of white smith prodigys with platinum lenses lying around on ebay?

I got some 1080 CR Labs for $195.78 shipped off SAC yesterday. I'm pretty sure they are the same thing as the SPKs minus the rivets.
