Coming off forward

i want to try a misty, or a frontflip, but when i look at videos i dont understand how someone would come off the jump going forwards. like for a backflip ur just going off it and its a natural motion but like i dont understand. and should u spin after u pop off the jump or should i start spinning when u take off?
