Im looking to get the ARV or JP v. Ju and i would rather get the wider JP, but im in question of whether or not the lighter/possibly weaker wood core and edges could hold up to much park rails. I have 04 05 scratch fs, but i want to get an all mountain wide pair of sticks, and i really like how light the JP's are but can they hold up to much rail riding? Im not that advanced at rails, so im not gonna be doing like 20 foot gap to rails or anthing like that but i may hit a couple of rails. Can the JP hold up to much rails?
I'm gonna go with ARG for my choice of worst armada park ski...
but yea if you really want to go in the park with them get ARVs. If I had the cash I woulda got those instead of ar6s. the 2mm edge is dope, although if the JPs are 1.7 I think that's still thicker than a lot of park specific skis from other companies. not sure on that though I dont measure edges very often, but salomons edges or instance are way thinner than my ar6's.
my friend ripped the edges out of his jp vs. jews in like a month using it as his "everything" ski...but what do u expect??? they dont want u to do rails with that ski
Would u get an all mountain ski (ARV) even though u have 04 05 scratch fs in good shape? or get the JJ as a powder ski and use the FS for park? my only comment about this question is that i dont usually ski just powder during a day or just park...
get the ARV if you are using them as park skis too, they are just as fat in the tip and tail (practically) and the ARV's would be more park friendly for you.
ive realized that if i get the jj its only powder and bc, but i wanna know if i should go with one ski does it all and get the ARV and sell my 04 05 scratch fs/use as an urban ski? or use the Scratches as my park ski and get the JJs so i have a park and a powder ski? One ski for everything or one park one powder?
Heres what I do - I use my Madens every single day, save the very iciest and crappy. Wide ski's are a lot of fun, I dont know if I would ever buy another ski under 100mm at the waist.
why would you want ARVs as your all around ski? they're so soft, or is it just you love armada? (on a side note, armada's edges are not the best based on the number i've seen break and crack, though they're not the worst, they're just average). if you want a true all mountain ski, get the fischer Atua, you won't regret it. or if you want something smaller try a chronic blend (Line actually has the burliest edges, though they got a bad rep from the delam issues with the invaders.)
