How to spin faster

I, really fucking can't figure out how to spin fast enough, even for like a 3 and sure make fun of me all you want. I've only been park skiing for 8 days in total i've landed one 3 i can do tripple kink rails and all that shit but i CAN"T spin fast and it's pissing me off like a shitload.
If you guys have any suggestions please give them they would be much appreciated

to spin faster, dont spin with just ur head, it can make the whole thing look sketchy. spin with ur shoulders 2. itll help u go faster & hav more control.

i just learned to do 3s in the last two weeks and what helped me was sending my spin from a lower center of gravity. When you spin without skis on your center of gravity is roughly chest high, and if you generate (or send) your spin from this area of your body spinning is relatively easy. But with skis on your center of gravity is lower due to the heavy equipment you strap to your feet and spining from your chest will throw you off balance . So in response to this I focused on spining from about my solar plexus and this helped me alot. Anyway I hope this helps.

dude, stop whining. we live east coast, it blows, that why you have to adjust, nobody has it perfec.

and as stated above the triple kink is a box. my 10yr old sister can do those, nothing special.


and for the kid who cant do 3's, sack up and huck yourself, youll get the motion down sooner or later. and keep your body together, the more you flail the slower you spin.

yo bro dont give me that shit about the east coast i know its not close to as good as out west alot of pros come out of the east dumont, willson, kass (Snowboarder) i dont feel like naming them all but you get the point
now with your 3s its all practice i would imagin you r doing them very chopy like 180 then trying to do another you have to just try to stay smooth in the air and they will flow around alot ezer

Keep at it and do it over and over and over again. Keep hiking. Eventually itll come naturally to you. Get a widish stance at first and make sure you look over your shoulder. fully commit and youll get it.

no, if you learn like this you won't ever get past a 5. you have to rotate from your core to spin fast. stand up in your room arms at 90 degrees, eyes forward at a spot on the wall and just pop and turn in one motion. resist throwing your arms and you will start to feel it.

practice getting big spins liek 9s, 10s on trampolines and then try on skis. Just force you head and the shoulder on the side you spin to keep spinning, one day you'll figure it out and then u have it dialed

I have a similar question, because i can 5 consistently and even grab in 5s, but even when i totally commit, i cant quite get around for a 7. Dont tell me to huck because people at my hill do 9s and 10s off the same jump without winding up and hucking one bit. Perhaps if i just try more ill get it, but its scary as shit and i fall hard when i do try. The jump is about a 40 footer with a nice kicky lip.

strengthen your core. do crunches and shit several times a week. first time out skiing this winter i went for a 5 and wound up almost landing a 7. this was after doing loads of core workout for xc

fot steez get your legs into in more than you shoulders. come off your outside foot during a carve and when your coming off the lip pop it and flick your tail, then get low through your outside shoulder and grab that shit!! try that

good description. and definitly dont try to spin early. i ate it real hard catching my edge when i did that. i got thrown into a shitty 1 almost upside down. i landed on the knuckle on my ass and then bounced onto the landing on my head. haa so yeah dont be like me.

age doesn't matter, it's how long you've been skiing for. I know an 8 year old who can 7 30fters, a 12 year old who 9d an 80, and about 10 other kids under 15 who can 5 no problem.

Hah. Do you even know how much snow northstar got last year?

Sure there were powder days but only about 4 different times.
So dont always think the west coast is perfect.

I live 5 hours from any snow, it could be worse for you.
