Help with my AR6's

i recently became the proud parent of a pair of 181 ar6's. i am about 6'1'' and about 160ish. i have salomon boots in about a 29.5 i remeber...size 12 shoe. i also have s912's.

last time i had skis mounted, i fucked up and didnt realize they didnt know what centermounting was and let them do what they felt was right.

this time, i want my skis mounted correctly, so i need your help.

i live in indiana, so ill be riding park and all mountain, but i will be taking these out west a few times to ski mostly the bowls and some of the rest of the mountain. im unsure if i want them centermounted becuase of this tendency to ski in bowls...so i need some help/info.
bottom line: where do you recommend me having them mounted, and how do i effectivly communicate this?

on other threads ive seen -2, but i dont know how i can communicate or know if its 2 back from true center or the line (im assuming there is a line, maybe incorrectly). i want to get these done today, and i really need to know exactly what i want and be able to communicate it. the guys at the shop... in indiana...i dont trust know their stuff from dealing with them previously

so you say i should tell the guy at the shop, that i want my skis mounted 2 INCHES or CM's BACK from TRUE CENTER

i ski park in indiana, but out west, its all the bowls and double blacks

tell him 2 CM back. On my t-halls, reccomended is 5 cm back of true centre. So, you can tell him +3 cm of reccomended, or -2 cm of true centre. Look on your seideass, and there should be a little aarow....

mine dont have arrows or lines. my fujatives did, these dont. it just says ARMADA on the sidewalls. but i can assume that if he measures it up and finds the true center, if i say mount them back 2 CM from true center, he will be able to put them in the right place? im sorry for being so inqusitive, i just want to do this today. i used to work in a shop, just never did mountings...

and is 3 CM back to far?

First question: Where are they mounted now?

Measure from the tails. Armada mounting lines tend to be fucked up. Give yourself about 88cm of tail (that is, sole center should be 88cm in front of the tail of the ski) and you should be fine.

alright im a little confused by what you are saying. right now, they are sitting on my floor, unmounted. i have 181 cm skis. what do i tell the guy to get skis mounted at what has been recommended (-2 or -3 from true center)

I'd mount and inch or 2.5 CM back from true center. THey'll be fine in the park, but still be able to handle regualar skiing.

right on man i was thinking 2.5 or 3 CM back from true center, but i hope to god since these dont have ANY notches, arrows, or lines on them, that they dont fuck it up somehow. im going to rusted moon in broadripple.

i had mine mounted 1.5 cm in front of the recommended line and theyre perfect. just got back from Park City and they did fine. dunno if you left yet or not

They have a line on the topsheet just get them mounted like 2.5 back from true that is right between true and core pretty sure cuase thats where im getting mine mounted

i mounted mine 10mm foward from suggested mark, so its between core center and reccomended kinda, its perfect, good for park and easy to ski switch, and then their great all mt

he measured it out. found center. went 2.5 back from it. its a masking tapes width in front of it. ok did i tell him the wrong center? he measured it out. its in front of the line. the line on the skis is at midsole i think???

I'm real similar size to you and ride 181s at -2 from true, I love it. just as balanced in the park and just as good switch as true center, but maybe mentally if nothing else a little better in pow and all mountain, they carve pretty well at least, obviously still not amazing in pow but the fatness helps a bit with that. When I was contemplating where to mount I looked at the armada skiers' profiles and they all mounted their ar6s and thalls at -2 for the most part.
