Why do you guys think, and Andy if you read this please answer, that he prefers markers on most skies esp. his BC skis, but then rides some fks on his park skis? Or is it just that he happened to have one or the other.

cuz if you crank down a marker hard enuf, it will blow up before it releases and that's waht you want for stomping gnar gnar, killer switch landings off 50' cliffs.

he's sponsored by k2, which is affiliated with marker, so thats probably why, and the fks are good for releasing when you catch an edge riding park

They do now. Look made them to fit the XXL, so 110mm and it bends to 130.
Speaking of funny binding choices has everyone seen the 4FRNT add in Powder? It is a 2 page spread that shows each pro and their promodel and everyone is rocking Dead Bolts except Eric who is skiing the 193's with Salomon 916s. It is kinda funny since there is a Dead Bolt 16 and all.

^could be as simple as him not getting deadbolts on-time to mount on that particular pair of skis, or as complex as a contract issue. Either way, not a huge deal, I'd think.

It would have been hard for a non Look/Rossi sponsored skier to get those last year. And as for Hjorleifson not having the deadbolts, those were not the skis he was riding during the summer and he probably did not have the deadbolts during the winter, or he just prefered the s916's

It probably is something much more simple than I had thought...i was thinkin that maybe the distribution of pressure over the ski with a marker heel piece is more predictable landing switch in pow...but I dunno...or maybe its just that andy's dad and uncle always rocked those marker comp bindings so he does too???

i'm bored and feel like answering this question for andy, since talking on the phone to him is never fun. he rocks the markers that are race specific, on the toe piece there is just a pice of steel instead of vertical release, silva rocks these as well as the majority of our crew. and the dins go up to like 35. i rock salomon and rossi(race specific) because i'm stupide. now is that good third hand info or what.
