hey i need to know where i can get osme new balls, mine stopped working...but seriously, does anyone have any tricks on confidence building, when i throw it i can, but its those 5 feet before the jump where i loose it... it always crosses my mind to forget it and i thnk..eh maybe next time... ne thing will help, thanx

You just gotta go for it...just think about landing it and how good that will feel. Just try and visualize what your gonna do before you hit the jump. or you could try listening to music.

get some pressure. I know i often will go for an easy trick over a harder one when im alone but when u have people watching u the pressure is on and i tend to perform better. The more people i ski with the better i tend to do.


I am not doing the grabs because I am getting a thrill out of touching my ski-JPAuclair

Remember a few things before you jump... you can bail out and prevent basically all injury half way through the jump if you are sure you can't land. And pain is only temporary... the body heals :)

Man, I am the expert in pussing out like that. I figure it out with mountain biking. You can't get phsyced before you head up to the jump. Seriously. Be afraid. Be very afraid. Then, go for it. When you get really close, like 5 feet, where you usually puss out, that's where to put on the anger and the determanation and just focking GO FOR IT!!! Just remember man, just before you go off, is when you're pumped. If you're pumped too soon before the lip, you'll puss. Practice in the summer and in down time with other 'action/extreme' sports. Go brah.

Good call raptor. Also, it helps if you have three balls, like me... that's right, E.T. -extra testicle, also known as eddie torres. I found my extra balls when I realized how huge my ego would be once I stuck huge tricks. But above all.... balls comes from an inner calm, a mental decision that you are living life the way that you want to live, and that no matter what happens, you will be happy. And that snow may be hard, but the temper of your determination can be ever so much harder.

i am the same way! i get freaked right out before i hit a jump. especially when last year i just about popped my knee out and broke my wrist. i always think of those right before i hit the lip and it makes me SUCK!

smoke a bowl before you ski, that works for me. haha, anyways, dont even think about doing the trick, visualize it once before you hit it. then just dont think about it and huck it

yeah it is good advice not to obsess about the trick. run it over in your mind before the aproach and you'll be surprised how automatically you'l go for something once u have an idea of it but dont obsess

don't obsess on the trick is right on.. instead of 'oh my god im gonna do a 360' u should be thinking 'doodoodoo 360 doodoodoo' and keep skiing. i usually don't think about anything when im goin up the jump except for 'yeah this is gonna be sick' that usually works.. and once you stick a trick off a little jump it usually pumps me up to go stick something way bigger on a big jump

what i do is get what i want to do stuck in my mind--then as im heading up the jump i just start thinking about a song--and for some reason my mind sings the song and my body does the trick

don't wait at the top of the in run for an hour cause you'll just think about what could happen and get more afraid. just go for it.......... im having the same problem (thus far) this year with spinning. so good luck bro.

ya so i throw a small 180 and go to turn and just jam my back tip into the other one, and fall backwards...retarded my leg, i thought it was broken but still skied--- i didnt try ne big spins which i regret but i couldnt realy bare ne weight and i threw a couple big grabs so i guess im set.... thanx for the advice everbody

Get yourself pysched all day. Before you go skiing, think about how your going to nail this amazing trick. Then when your waiting to drop, get all pissed off, start swearing at someone, hit someone, starting jumping up and down, and act like you have rabis. Then start to ski towards the jump, forget everything and just huck. Huck like you will never be able to huck again. If you fall, then blame it on someone else or the wind or something, then repeat the acting crazy thing again. Ha.

Yeah I agree with these guys, get three balls and think about the jump, then go down the hill and don't think about it - I was doin 360's off a 40 foot table on Sunday and I'd never done a 360 off anything bigger than maybe a 15-footer before then, it was insane!! I've also landed sooo many backflips in my head while lying in bed late at night... WOW I'm stoked to try one!

I heard that advice given to someone who was gonna try a backflip for the first time. And it's true. As long as you've visualized the trick and mentally know you can do it, then go for it, and see what happens. I lost my focus the other day and was getting frustrated instead of staying calm and just jumping. So when I hit the next jump it was a very quick 270X off axis (not on purpose) to ground to bruises. Best advice; CHILL.
