oh and the primary reason for fewer fatalities was the fact that drivers wore their seatbelts without evening having a law (yes, thats right we as human being can think on our own and make the right decisions without the government telling us what is right or wrong,) drivers were much more alert and focused on driving (they weren't setting the car on cruise, eating a big mac and falling asleep,) and they were using proper lane utalization (Pass on left, drive in the right etc)
the lowest collision rates are drivers that drive 5-10 over the posted limits and the highest are the drivers that drive 5 under the limit.
On the auto bahn three simple rules apply
Drive in the right
pass on the left
focus only on driving

on the autobahn you do not get tickets for going 120mph in most parts, but if your car runs out of gas and is on the side of the road you get a ticket. The Germans know the really driving dangers and penalize drivers for them. they dont just hand out bull shit tickets to raise revenue.
