id definitely get those if they were available in a 195 or something - anyone who hasnt smeared a turn in powder and are heaping shit on reverse sidecut skis have no idea what theyre talking about
, DO YOU HAVE EYES? USE THEM MOTHERFUCKER. the ARG(DP's) use the reverse camber of the Spats with a UNIQUE sidecut in almost no ways similar to the Toon's.
Toons: wide in the tips, skinier in teh waist, slightly wider in the tail and then the pin-tail. AKA clown Shoes
ARG-DP Lotus138: skiny int he tips + reverse camber tapering in to the widest section alittle in front of the toe 2mm skinier in the waist, 1mm wider alittle after the heal and again a reverse camber tail. AKA fancy spats but a world more advanced and years later.
WRONG!!!!!! I doubt you have even seen pontoons or spatulas to make that comment.
to begin, reverse camber has nothing to do with the sidecut of the ski, it has to do with the verticle (when the ski is lying flat on the ground) curvature. a reverse camber sits like a boat with the tips up in the air, while normally skis have a space between their center and the ground.
And while ARGs are different than pontoons and spats, they are different because they added another curature to the sides, essentially having 5 sidecut statistics, while the pontoons and spats are designed after water skis and have a skinnier tip and tail than waist, but no extra curves. and yes the tip is wider than the tail, or else it wouldn't be very effective in floating. and as for the 160-130-120 dimentions of the toons, they actually get wider than 160 than taper back, making it 130 at the suggested mounting point.
Some of you kids know literally nothing about skis. It's kind of sad. You do know the edges are made of metal and stuff, though, right? And there's this thing we call "flex", which... ah fuck it.
Com'on....it was more so McConkey and his idea/brainchild/design and he was signed with Volant, and they pressed and made the ski for him....then the falling out occured, everyone got mad and claimed it was their idea...then that big re-seller bought out the entire stock on some eBay sale....and then it got messy. And then he left.
Yea, and it just so happens that pretty much every model they have made is nothing short of a great ski...so continue sucking boys, lots more good stuff to come from Armada.
Armada is makin only 60 ARGs and they're comin out in November to select shops. They look sick in Ski Porn. Kinda a combo of the Pontoons and Spats, same kinda surfboard affect with reverse sidecut (for fore and aft body) at Spats, same little but of carvecut under the boot part of the ski so that u can make it back to the lift, but without the 160 mm tips that are absolutely ridiculous
Check out JP Auclair in his extra segment, he definitely has them on in the big mountain section. I dunno bout the main movie, but they're prob featured somewhere. The ponts are on Fujas, and they look like they could never tip in even if you were leaning forward on a landing, insane. Yea, they better mass produce them cause Spats are hard as hell to come by and the ponts are just too big at the tip.
