hey. This is a kind of gross, and a border-line embarassing problem, but I need to know what to do with an Ingrown Toe...
It's been 5 days since I started noticing it. It started off as kind of a numb tingling for a few days. Yesterday it started becoming more of a painful experience, so I know it's starting to get infected is what it means. Ive been putting lots of ban daids and polysporin on it to slow the infection and keep the pain down, and I've booked an appointmentto get it looked at so I can get a referal to see a surgeon. The only thing is that the appointment is not until Monday, so I have three days to try and keep it a manageable thing.
What should I do? Im guessing that alot of you have had this problem especially from ski boots so Im wondering if anyone has any tips. Ive looked on medical sites to look for tips, and Ive used those alot, but Im just wondering if any of you raddarts have any tricks you know too.

An ingrown toe? I've only ever heard of ingrown toenails...

uhh, for waiting till monday, i would say try not to put pessure on it as least as possiblr, and maybe put ice on it, so it goes numb and you wont feel the pain

aaarg ingrown toenails can be a pain in the ass. but yeah, try and numb it with ice packs & wear roomy footwear until you see the doc. you can try and give the affected foot a warm salt water bath too. that usually helps me

not just steel wool, score it with a knife then steel wool then the salt, then maybe some ice and keep off your foot for a while
