Commit, commit, commit. The first few you do will be a little scary, but they're really easy after that. Just jump hard and look back until you can spot the trampoline again, then you've got it made. There's only a second where you can't see anything so if you can make it past that, there's nothing weird about it at all.
Make sure to think about going UP first. Throw your hands above your head and reach for the sky as your comming up on your bounce. After you reach, then you tuck, your rotation will be more controlable and you wont end up flying off the tramp. Good luck boie.
ok... sit on the tramp and do a backwards somersalt. just roll back. u will feel like an idoit but just do it.
Then practice jumping landing on your back and doing the somersalt motion only in the air, so that was a backbounce back flip. they arent half as scary as reg backflips... then if you have to get someone to spot you and huck a real one.
Rest in peace Steve Irwin... u were an
Actually, you do not want to use your head at all, and I'd strongly reccomend attempting a backflip off of a diving board into some water to start with, seeing as how doing a back flop or belly flop is slightly less damaging than a broken vertebrae.
In any case, doing a back flip (or back double) is all about your arms. As you're jumping, be sure that you're circling them so that your hands are brushing past your thighs at the bottom of the jump (when the tramp is depressed all the way) and up to just shy of vertical (think 11:00 on a clock face) as you're jumping off. This will get you the most height possible.
Once you have mastered this, the next step would be to circle your arms past that point (awkward, I know, but this is what starts your rotation.) You want your arms to circle past your ears (to approximate 1:30-2:00 on a clock face) to get this rotation started. Bringing your arms past your ears will cause your shoulders to drop back and this helps with the rotation. Once you have started your rotation, bring your knees up to your chest and pull them in. If you bring your chest down to your knees, you will STOP your rotation and not complete the flip. Once you are in the air, and are past vertical, start looking to spot the landing so you know how long to stay in the tuck. Then come out. Done and done. Once you've mastered tuck, try pike and layout for some added difficulty.
Oh, and a pair of brass ones wouldn't hurt either.
There are many extra things that I could add to this but are much easier demonstrated than explained. I've been a diver for 11 years and am now coaching, and doing flips on a trampoline is very similar to diving (and we use one to warm up on/practice on sometimes). Good luck.
the way i learned mine were get real comfortable just jumping and landing right on your back then start moving to upper back and then just thorw it a tiny bit harder and your head gets around and then you have it
detective, there's no going and you tell me do things i dont runnin
yeah, i started out one day doing back rolls to get the feel of going backwars just getting faster and higher, then its all about committingm u really wont get hurt that bad if you commit, ive landed on my head and i just couldnt breathe for like 5 seconds, not like life ending, just work ur way up
i just learnt how to do them yesterday and the best easiest way for sure if to learn to cork (not very hard) then just start super corking your spins until your really really super corking them (you should be upside down) and youll be doing mistys and then just do a backflip, easy as that, its really all about corking your cork

OMG just get some nuts. First time trust me you'll land on your hands and knees no problem neways. Nothing to worry about the backflip is actually easier than the frontflip physically, it's all mentality

when im old and rich im gunna put a microwave, refridgerator and a huge tv infornt of my toilet and eat hot pockets all day and never move my feet again.
Its funny when I learned how it was me and my friends calling each other pussies until we all learned it. WE all fell on our face the first time and we eventually got it. Now I coach tramp and the steps we make people go through and the spotting is halarious too me, I obv still do it cuz I don't want to get fired. But anyways if you want the steps we teach the kids in go:
1. Do a back summer sault on the tramp, get used to putting your hands down, that way if you fuck your next trick up youll do like a back hand spring.
2. Do a back pull over, this is where you land in a back drop and you kick your feet over your head, you should flip over and land in a doggie drop or stomach drop.
3. Now do a back pull over and land on your feet, you are now technically doing a 3/4 back flip off your back.
4. Now back pull over and land back on your back. Now you are technically back flipping off your back. Make sure your super comfy with with upside down part.
5. Now since you wont have a spotter you wont really be able to practice setting into it so your gonna have to go for broke. - Before I continue, if you fuck yourself up, don't come trying to sue me cuz you suck at life, because if you can do what I just said you would have to honestly be the most uncoordinated person ever -. So know if you think your ready what your gonna do is bounce at a normally comfortable height, when you set your gonna try and kick your feet to where your head would be and lean back with your shoulders and head, if you think your are going to land on your hand put your arms down to protect you.
NOTE: The way you will probably fuck the trick up is if your land leaning back already, you will know this because your body will be angled back slightly and you well probably come off your heels, this will result in your losing much of your height and travelling alot which is not good, so dont do that.
There you go! Have fun, and once you do it once youll get it alot because its actually easier then a front flip.
Merse you sexy potatoe you better be doing some thing fucking crazy up there, see yea soon br-ah
Just make sure you jump straight up and tuck and watch your landing!

Anyways, when i first learned backflips on a tramp, i learned by using my legs to complete my rotation. Basically, i used the force of the bounce to bring my legs over my head, which was sloppy. After a while i just started to straighten my body out and use my upper body to lead my lower. I guess all I can say is go for it and dont bail. Make sure you look straight back. Alot of people look to the sides and end up going way off axis. Also, if you have a pool, try doing back dives. You'll probably backflop a ton, but it gets you looking in the right direction. Once you master the backdive, try rotating a bit more by throwing your body backwards harder.
ha EVERYTIME someone brings up a backflip someone HAS to mention a broken neck. Not raggin anyone that brought it up, just think its funny that broken neck is brought up with backflips all the time, probably not helping anyone get over the fear of doing one haha
thats how i started too started doing like lincoln loops on the tramp and my friend just told me i could do one because it looked like i was kind of already, just make sure to commit thats the biggest advice anyone can give you, its always better to over rotate than under rotate!
