backflips off the jumpys

whats the trick to doing backflips off of jumps. i havent tried one yet but i want to. i land them perfectly on the trampoline.

get a bit more air than you would on a tramp, your skis and everything will slow up your rotation quite a bit. It's all in the hips and the head and shoulders really, well I guess you could say it's your whold body but when I do it I get up to the lip of the jump, about 2 meters before I hit I start leaning back, when I hit it I pop with my feet and thrust my hips forward and shoot my head and shoulders back, this gets you vertical and upside down freakin' quick, then you can either tuck your knees up to your chest which will rotate you round fast or hang it out and rotate slower, you can flex your back to slow down or tuck your knees to speed up, this will stop you over-rotating, within reason of course. Yah, so go nuts dude. Just try it off something not toooooo huge to start with and wear a helmet. peace.

They arent as scary as i thought they would be. Just try it on a smaller jump. I waited until it was really slushy.

on a diving board i get scared halfway through and end up doing a 180 in it.. i guess that would be better than a backflip but im doing it out of fear and not because i want to


It is unfortunate when everything seems to be going really good and the girl uses a word like 'dont', or 'stop'. If she learned to use these two words in unison, everyone would be much happier.

their super easy after you land one, but you gotta commit, your fucked if you dont, so spot your landing when your head comes around and it should be good from there, learn it in powder or slush if you can, and with a helmet

i havnt gone for it yet but i hear a backflip is 90% balls and 10% skilz. i dunno...........but i guess i havnt worked up the balls for it yet.

yeah...its more guts than actually skiing skills...cause people tell me I should try backs cause it will be so much easier than a 720

yah dude, they are freakin' easy skill wise, pretty much but they just take heaps of balls to pull them off.

just commit and you will get it within 10 tries. If you think you are gonna land on your head, you wont. Its actually pretty unlikly that you will land on your head.

small backflips take only a little skill, it is the huge and slow backflips with grabs that take tons of skill. try a small jump 15-20ft and just huck and tuck. Grabbing you knees helps get the tuck and hold it till you see the landing

Ten80 your right on, I figured that out the hard way. If your beginning inverts and you huck one of a big table...you cant believe the feeling, flying through the air, you come around to see the landing upside down...15ft below you, cant wait to stomp it.

haha, I learned the hard way also



also caught my tips once. it is better to overrotate a bit than underrotate.

yah dudes, doing your first one and coming around to see your landing and just knowing that you're gonna land it is the sickest feeling, but then if you suddenly realise that you're about to eat shit, well that sucks, haha, happened to me a lot when I was learning, go nuts, be cool and ski safe.
