Here is an email I just recieved talking about halfpipe in the Olympics. I am very much in favor of it and know alot of people on NS are too. So if you care about it, go fill out the petition.

OVER 3000 NAMES ON THE PETITION!
It’s hot hot hot outside... unless you’re in NZ or Oz or sitting on top of a snowpark on a glacier somewhere... so skiing may not be your first thought at the moment... but the Campaign to get Skiing Halfpipe into the next Olympics fights on!
We’ve now broken through 3000 names which is excellent. It looks like we lost the battle to get skiing halfpipe into the 2010 Olympics as a fully fledged official event, but it could still be a demonstration event if the right people at Vancouver are sufficiently convinced of the interest/demand! We’ve had some really helpful suggestions from people about different ways to push this forward, including approaching NBC because of their influence (as shown in the last few days over the timing of the swimming events in China!) but any help/info/advice you can give – either directly by approaching people yourself, or by advising us on ways we should push this, would be much appreciated.
So please set aside the beach ball and pour yourself a cold soda and spread the word and/or let us have your ideas/contacts!
