Surfboard Question

hey guys I just got a used AL Merricks shortboard (6'6)

being used it received some damage which was fixed, so theres a spot down the middle of the board thats a differnt color of plexiglass. now I want to paint the whole board to really make it my own. so my question is do any of you have any tips for surfboard painting. any specific brands of paint work well. any spcific type of clear coat.

I plan to ride this board so I would like it to be pretty resistant

lightly sand it. paint it however u want and put a clear coat over it.

um, go to autozone or pepboys or one of those car shops, and look in the paint section for a chameleon paint kit, it has 3 different coats in the package and its like 20-30 bucks, its really sick, but i forgot the brand

lots of paints can fuck with the resin on the boards. I would try to contact a shop or board shaper. Paint jobs are done before the resin coating is applied. Ozzie Wright tried to paint a bunch of his board and by the time the paint dried he could stick a pencil through his surfboard.

a real light coat is needed. if you want it to be permanant you should really glass over it otherwise almost everything will chip or wreck the board.
