i've got some money to spend and i was thinking about building some dirt jumps for biking, all the dirt will needed to be trucked in and we're gonna have to build a starting ramp, but i wanted some other input on like a layout, instead of just normal layout i wanna have multiple lines with hips/qp's/stalls/and regualr 6-pack, if you have any ideas post them
I hope your ready for a butt load of work. me and my friends got some dirt trucked in and built a jump that was like 4.5 feet tall with a 15 foot gap. It takes TONS of dirt. if you have success put up some pics, and from experience while huge 15 foot gaps are nifty, it takes one hell of a drop in ramp to clear them, don't get as greedy as we did.... have fun
^^gotta truck in dirt becasue its impossible to dig in my yard, and if you look at really solid backyard setups, the dirt is always trucked in, you need some serious dirt haha, and yea i know 15' gaps aren't necessary unless big lips and landings are built
i've found that if you set a wallride up like one found on a ski hill, dirt built up high on both sides, but at an angle and in the middle of your jump set, it makes for some illin good times. and by at an angle, i mean almost running in the same direction as the jumps, but maybe 20degrees off or something, ( so instead of "|" it would be like "/" ). that way you can stall it, throw something on that side, or transfer it to the other, etc etc. it's maaaaad fun
thats diddnt explain much... hmm
ok
1.make two takeoffs: one big and going straight, the next right beside it on the right hand side at an angle, maybe 20 degrees facing away from teh first jump
2. make a landing for teh big jump
3.make a hip landing for the side jump, followed by another hip takeoff pointing towards the big landing.
4. at this stage. you have 3 jumps, and 2 landings... follow?
5. repeat thsi process twice more, next to teh left instead of right, then finally to teh left. now you will have 3 big jumps, 3 small hips, and 3 step up type hips. you can hit these in any order, leaving many options from 3 hits to 6 hits on the way dowm.
that is probably riddles with spelling/gammaer errors but im too lazy to fix it
sounds cool, but i need more variation, with some wallrides and stalls, not just hips,
and i can't dig from the ground because all the soil near my house is pure rock, i only have a 4 foot tall basement because they had trouble digging with a bgackhoe
