Advice on new skis please!

Hi guys
Im new here but im hoping some one will be so kind as to give me some advice over which skis to buy. Im looking for a pair of twin tips - will be used on piste as much as in the park/off piste though due to the nature of my winter job (im a holiday rep and have to take my guests out skiing).
Ive considered the Marie Martinod pro model and Miss Demeanour but not tried either yet. I skied on a 159 salomon foil and a 160 line maverick this winter - both were OK but a little 'flappy' at speed. I think it might be coz they were too long for me - im only little at 5 foot and about 125lbs.
thanks for your time.

get the missys. they are women's public enemies, and ive heard a lot of good things about them. im not sure what lengths they come in, but its easy to find. probably 149/159 would be good for you. they might take some getting used to as they are known to be heavy, but from what i hear they are the best of the best.

I would go with the Martinods overs the Missdemeanors just because I personally love Dynastars and hate K2s. You will get tons of energy and pop from Dynastar.

ok...... for some one like your self the miss demenours will work nice, there pretty solid and have a wood core, the down side is there are not good off piste skis. but your gona have quite a bit of trouble finding a on/off piste/ park ski. the skis now are too spacific. I also recomend looking at some of the "male" models, dont limit your self to womens specific ski.
hope i helped

^^i agree. dont limit yourself to just women skis. look at some short public enemys or i heard that scratchs handle pretty well all mountain.

^^^ the pe's are a firly stiff ski, at her size, unless she is a super agressive skier those might be too stiff for her

Give us some more information. What is your background with skiing (i.e. How long have you been skiing and where)? What is your favorite terrain when you're not showing people around. Have you skied any non twin tips that you liked?

hi there,
thanks for all the help so far - never expected such a warm and informative response! i vent seen the martinods anywhere either- a friend of mine has a deal with dynastar (he's a race coach) and he's putting in an order for his team, so said he could get me a set of dynastars at cost. Being a cash strapped ski bum, this seems like a good option!
Nut - Ive been skiing for about 10 years. Ive done most of my skiing in Europe - holidays in France and a season in Austria. Id class my self as just about advanced i think. Im happy enough anywhere on piste although if its steep in bad conditions my descent wll be less than graceful. There wasnt a park where i spent last winter (boo hoo!) but landing ones and determined to try a three. I think i'll be in Morzine in France next winter with a bunch of mad guys so im sure i'll get pushed much harder in the park and off piste than previously.
the line mavericks i had were fun- very easy to handle. i think the foils got a bad lot as i was using them right at the end of the season when the snow was very very sticky, so they felt very slow and unresponsive. I had an old pair of atomic carving skis before that- the 10.16 from 2002. They were my first skis and loved them! I also managed to blag a few days with this seasons atomic GS11 (150) and the sx10 (150) which were both brilliant on grromed piste - i only got to use these whilst i was guiding.
thanks again everyone!

Cool, thanks for the info. With your background, I think you're going to like an all-mtn twin over a park specific ski.
My girl is very close to your size and skis similar to what you described. When there is no new snow she has liked the K2 Public Enemy, and Head Mojo 90. On better snow days, she's liked the K2 Phat Luv, Volkl Gotama and Dynastar Sugar Daddy. The k2 Nancy comes out soon, it is the chick version of the vicious and I've heard good things. Hope you find what you like.

yeah check that one out for sure... i think the smallest size is a 159 though... that might be a little longgg. it's supposed to kill it though, might be worth skiing a few cm's long.

get 165cm Troublemakers. They are the perfect ski for a first twintip. They were mine.
