getting bored with park skiing?

I don't know if i am the only one, but this season skiing park isn't as fun anymore. Maybe it is because i ski alone most of the time, but now i enjoy skiing groomers and lines through the trees better than lines through the park. Lately i have been thinking 'why wait in line in the park or ski that same trail all day when i can ski the other 99% of the mountain?' Who else gets these moods?

I pretty much only ride the park in the spring when the rest of the mountain is shitty. I should add though that a big part of that is me being a pussy and not wanting to huck my meat onto sheer ice. As for skiing alone and just ripping, I hear you on that. I never really feel much like going to the park when I'm alone either, I'd rather just rip it. I don't like it when I don't have anyone to push me and tell me how my shit looks and how to make it more stylie.

i find that if you set a goal for yourself at the beginning of the season, and really follow through and dont do anything else until you get it, then you wont get bored with anything. the key is really dedicating yourself and only thinking about that thing, whether its in the park or the groomer

yeah i don't know, i haven't progressed much this season either. Last season i could spin 180s and 360s to my left, but my whole feeling changed and i had to learn to spin them to the right this season, but i haven't tried anything past that. Even on rails, i haven't done anything impressive. Maybe it's time i get a pair of carving skis.

definatly, i was all park last year and now completely have switched, i may run a few lines through but that's it. the way i see it some people have mad skills at park others don't, i don't but as long as i can lay down a couple tricks i'm happy and i'll go ski what i want

always ski with friends when its possibkle but dont give up park, just step it up. try 5's on smaller jumps and pimp out your three's, start filming if you can, looking good for the camera is always motivation and if possible try new mountains too, maybe your just bored of YOUR park and not 'park'. find a nice powder booter and just huck some inverts for the hell of it into as much snow as you can pile into one spot. doing the same tricks over and over can get really lame too so inovate, unatural and fakie are a good way to keep things fun. dont switch to the dark side. stay in the park

this is my first year really into the park so i can't get enough. but most of the time i'll ski big mountain if i'm alone. it's funny because all my friend's parents hate driving us to mountains if we're going to ski park

A cocktail, you asked for a cocktail.

No, I asked you to give me a refreshing drink. I wasn't expecting a

Big-L actaully skiing is the 'darkside' thats screwed up, i thought the 'darkside' was just park ratting each and every day and not skiing, but hey thats just me. I like to keep it even and get a good mix of park and mountain skiing, if there is any new snow over 8' i usually steer clear of the park and ski the new snow.

skiing park in the morning I think is best unless its a pow day becasue...the gaps to the rails wont be curled over and the jumps will ahve good landings...I ski at hood with tons of gay boarders
that just ride over the lip

jumps dont have good landings in the morning, they have ice landings that hurt when ur not warmed up

i ussually ski at a little hill with not much terrain so i will ride park almost 98% of the day working on new stuff. but i like to take the occasonal run and rip hard carvs or do soem fakie riding. when im in the mountains though i say i almost never ride the park, im out looking for fresh pow, cornices, fast lines, steep steep steep groomers. and fat tree lines. i think if i lived in the mountains i would still ride park but would do more backcountry, what i dont get is the skiers and boarders that ride at places like whistler and ride park 90% of the time.
I just wanna ski, is that to much to ask in life

if you are truly bored with park make a 2ft kicker off a 20ft ridge. that always is fun and it makes for some sick pics too. otherwise find a fallen tree and pull some awesome grinds

I got this feeling just today. After about half the morning going through the park i got really bored. So i just started skiing backwards down other runs and going through trees.

i always mix it up unless I'm at my home mountain I stick to the park or the 'black diamond' that my friends and I build jumps on. If I leave there I'll go all mountain.

I started freestyling last year and I thought that would be the only skiing I liked...i was wrong... when I went out west I enjoyed ripping it up threw powdered glades and bowls were possibly the best thing ive ever done! Kicking horses 3 bowls kick major ass!

Ctripper, sometimes you are just not in the mood for park which is fine. A mountain is a beautiful thing.. you are not limited, you can do pretty much whatever you want (just not stabbing ski patrol with poles.. this usually gets you in trouble)
Don't give up on yourself. Take it back to the basics, try to figure out what is stopping you from doing bigger tricks and change it!
The second you start landing new things is one of the best feelings and I am sure you will start loving park again.
But enjoy the whole mountain as well.
