Ways to not get kicked out of College....HELP

I'm in a fucking perdicament, I am a sophmore at a suny school and due to last semester, I was put on Academic Probation...If I don't earn a cumulative 2.75, I'm going to be dismissed from school and unable to return. WELL...I pledged a fraternity this semester, consequently resulting in lower grades then necessary to exceed the Cumulative gpa.
Are there any ways/suggestions for me to convince the school to readmit me as a junior next year? PLEASE HELP

first year I got bad grades and what not, also got rushed by a frat, but didnt pledge because I knew my grades would suffer. So really, frats will kill your grades and so does drinking. After getting on probation, you should have smartened up. You make bad lfie choices, you're going to be a garbage man, good luck with life you degenerate tool. Better not go on welfare and be a drain on our society.

ok, i'm not gonna say bad decision on the frat. most people's gpa's drop by ~2 points around here. but here's what you gotta do. The semester is not over, and we all know that in college, nothing matters except finals. So you can keep getting really bad grades, as long as you ace all your finals... very possible. My avr last semester was a D-, and i aced all my finals and finished with a B. So study fr your finals and your gold.

2.75 is not hard to get and if it is for you, you're in the wrong school. And to the dude above, Frats arent as bad as you said, but the fact that they're drinkin clubs and pretty skeezy are two of the reasons I'm de-brothering from my frat this week.

Dude a 2.75 is not that hard. Take a couple nights off drinking and do your fucking work, then party over the summer.
Frat's a bad idea if you can't keep your shit together, which obviously you're having trouble with.
Bust balls on those finals and you have a hope.

First semester this year I went to a school where the frats were Horrendous, skeezy, and they'd daterape girls. I transfered to UVM and I said I'd never join one, but I found one that's unlike any other here or at my old school. GREAT house, great guys, so I joined and now I've found that besides the VERY few community service events we do (I set a few more up because I wanted more and nobody would do them with me) it's a drinking club and it's (with the exception of a few guys) who can get leid at the party tonight. I HATE that and was hoping that life didn't revolve around each weeks party (I don't drink and I still seemed to fit in).

my brother was on academic probation cause he joined a frat too, he ended up with a 0.25 gpa that semester, then he quit smoking and cut down a drinking for the next semester and got his grades up so basically do that and study alot for your finals

totally depends on your school. if you go to a big state institution than that may be true, but for me attending a small liberal arts college i need to do well on everything i hand in.

when your gpa was shit the first semester you should have laid off a little bit to get them back up. that is after all why you are going to college. if you just want to party, why waste money on the education you aren't getting, get a cheap apartment and go crazy.
you need to find a balance between fun and school, otherwise you are just fucking yourself over in the long run.

Is a Frat one of those clubs that have stupid initiation cermonies? They all think they are badasses and drink out of red plastic beakers at parties...or is that just on movies?

Let us make a differention here. Frats are shitty at some schools, not everyone. At the school I am at, Fraternities GPAs are higher than average, job placement higher. Student government consists of at least 50 to 60% greek, though greeks make only 20% of the school. We study hard, may party one night a week, and then we do our fucking work. I ahte people lumping all fraternities into one lil category. Fraternities is just a group of people, and the people decide the way the orginization goes

precisely, these kids don't realize our networking and connections into the business world, or honestly whatever career your interested in. we have a major advantage. I screwed up last semester, but pledging this semester was undoubtedly worth it...I'm going to work my ass of for the remainder of the semester, ill be alright...as for all you haters, you have no life

if your cumulative GPA is even close to 2.75 how are you even close to getting kicked out? thats not even close to failing.

He's on probation, so probably under a 1.5 gpa and in order to not get kicked out NEXT semester, he needs to get a 2.75

you gotta graduate before you can have good networking skills with buisnesses regardless of your status as a brother or what not

academic prob. usually entails a year dismissal from school. that means you take a year off to get your shit together, make some scrilla to pay for school and come back with your game face on. it sucks because you miss a whole year of chilling with friends if you go to a school out of province.

Once your done pledging, and you;re a bro, time commitment goes way down, so just focus on your studies, don't BLAME it on the fraternity, and be diligent.

Yeah I agree, but Academics are a priority here, and we'd have probably alread kicked you out, cause 2 consecutive semester of sub 2.0 works gets you kicked out

yeah Im in the same boat.
I was on the university cross country running and track and field team. First semester my grades took a huge beating. Since I was travelling every other weeknd and then trying to skiin when I was in town.
Second semester I change my courses so something im more interested in. And I got a tutor and simply worked harder. Myh grades arnt out yet but Im hoping I made the cut, or else you'll see me on the slopes.

NOT ALL FRATS ARE DRINKING AND FUCKING CLUBS
thats just the stereotype. some frats are really academically supportive. my unkle went to UW and did shitty his first year, then joined a frat, eventually went to harvard for business school and is now the CAO of Nordstroms.
now obviously his joining of a frat didnt make him a top business exec, hmm well actually he was a frat brother with one of the nordstroms, and the same guy offered him the job so nm.
anyway point of story is that not all frats are bad.

The number one reason students fail (at my university) is poor time management. Keep that in mind.. plan out your week.. give yourself time in the library, away from people so you can study... stuff like that.
