Need help with norton antivus

Ok so I bought the new norton antivirus, and it wont let me install it. It keeps failing halfway through, and I think it may be because of old norton files that remain on the computer. I tried using 3 of the norton removal programs from their site, and the install of the new one still fails.

Has anyone had this problem, and if so, does anyone know how to resolve it?

go to c:\program files\ and find norton delete it, if that doesnt work try ctrl alt del and end the norton processes, and themt ry deleting them

no way you bought a new Norton cuz its GONE. so you got shanked, thats why it keeps failing.

Norton was bought by Symantec and that is now who distributes the anti-virus.

Might want to check what your installing on your 1000 user company. Symantec did aquire Norton, that happened back before 2000 actually. Their software line still carries the Norton names though. http://www.symantecstore.com/dr/sat5/ec_dynamic.main?sp=23&pn=3&sid=49997

it is symantec, but yeah it still says norton on it

first off it was a little over 10,000 and now about 22,500+. and no mention of norton here.

Your running the enterprise edition, which yes is different from the home user edition and is no longer marketed under the norton brand. what 99% of people here have access to and know as "norton anti virus" is still branded as such

Norton is real heavy on a system, and a lot of false positives, I prefer AVG, or Macafee, or Antivir over Norton.
But thats a personal choice I guess
