Twin tips....

Who the hell invented them? Which company developped them first? Sum say the three philshad the idea with Dynastar nd others Vinnie Dorion with Salomon. Does anyone know for sure?

the olin mark IV's had enough of a twintip to land backwards. Those skis are probably as old or older than most of the newschoolers. I guess I'd say that the 1080 was the first parabolic twintip. I don't really know though.

salomon 1080's and line dragons both came out in the '98 season, i think.

There was a K2 twintip before the 1080 came out. I forget what it was called. But the Olin ski was the first out of all of them, back in the day.

yea Olin came out with the first twintip, and salomon came out with the xscream 1080's in the 97/98 season.

Olin did have the mark skis with the twin yip but if you have ever picked a pair up you know they weren't a freestyle ski. They are like pure lead. I belive the Hart Ballets ( which have a pretty good twin tip) came out before the the Olins but I'm not sure. The ballet and mogul skis of the 70's(such as rossy exhibitions and freestyles deffinaltly evolved into the twin tips of today.

i'm pretty sure that the first full-size line skis were called the ninjas. they were black....pretty sure that they were the protoypes for the 1260's.

Salomon and line came out with Official twins, even tho line was the only pattented one. Old bump skis were twinned, the first one was like 30 yrs back or something
now when somebody asks me if i ever decapitated a fetus, i know what to say- My lab partner after a dissection gone wrong.

The K2 poacher was released the year before Salomon came out with the original 1080. The poachers were the first 'modern' twin. Before that, there was the Olin Mark IV.

no, your mad dumb. line was making skiboards in 95-96, they didn't come out with a full size twin tip prototype until 1998. i know this for a fact.

Any way you put it, the basis is still skiing... as much as we don't want to hear it, it's true. They still are skiers.
Skiboards had it first.
Don't know who made the first skiboard though.

LOL my grampa bought two pairs of skis (when he was like 15) and sawed the front tips off and did all of this stuff to make them twin tips. He still has them and they are sweet (1935). My grampa was the best for his age. He could land a 360 and thats pretty dope for 1935. My grampa wants me to be a freeskier and i respect that!

the first twin tips where made by line and they where skiboards. Yes skiboards are twin tips. the full length twin tip evolved from skiboards.
