how does anyone else get over fear? i've always got it eating at the back of my head and it never goes away. it sucks because it stops my progression while everyone else is throwing down.

well that happens to me alot also, i know i always have it in the back of my mind, but i never let it affect my progression, i go balls to the walls and try not to think of the worst that could happen, just do the same as they said, FUCK IT, just wear a helmet. its not worth the consequences if you dont.

Just visualizie the whole jump in your mind. Like the other day I kept seeing in my mind what i had to do for this 360 over a 30 footer, and i kept thinking about how much speed, pop, and if i needed to huck. And I just went up to and landed on my second try.

honestly it depends, if you have a normal nervous approch to a new thing in skiing you just gotta go for it ,and fully commit, and get caught up in the moment so that all you are thinking about is doing the trick. If its more than nervous you might be fall but a general bad feeling in your gut that tells you DON'T DO THIS...just put it off for a while, the right day and time will come to unleash whatever you have on your mind.

I know what you mean, I hate that little fear in the back of my mind. Lately I've started listening to music, rap specifically, and it helps to get me pumped up to try new stuff. I'm also getting a helmet soon. I basically just said "fuck it" and before I had time to let the fear sink back in I was heading towards the jump. I also thought to myself after pussying out once "wow I'm all talk, I'm going to regret this if I don't try it" and so I did. In just the last four days I've tried a 3, solidly gotten them down, working on 5's, switch 1's and cork 3's.

the hardest thing is not actually executed the trick, unless its maybe a (corck 3 to rail to switch up and 450 off) its forcin yourself to iniate the trick and to just do it. worst comes to it and you fall, but even a fall pumps me up and sure enough next run you nail it.

just think about it once, then look at the jump.. look at the crowd watching you and just fuck it and go for it.. just dont think about falling and your chances of landing it will increase :)

I usually have fear before I drop in like oh shit I shudnt do this, but once I drop in and am going up to the rail jump pipe or whatever all I can think about is the trick so I don't have fear then, so just go for it I guess

just think about how cool people will think you are once you do it. or dont think about it at all. on the first impulse you have of doing something, just drop and dont stop. if you dont take it on the first impulse it will be much harder to do. just dont bail out, or you could get hurt

there is a 20 footer and since i broke my heel i wont hit it. i even follow behind my friend but right as i get close to the jump i turn away and skip it. you friend is 8 and he is 5-ing it while i am skipping it. there is this mindblock in my head saying i cant do it. the jump isnt even kicky...its like a wedge. this sucks

What I do is just dont think about it too much. Turn on some tunes to get me pumped, and then fucking charge. I scream and rage at the jump. Hit the jump, do something crazy. Stomp it, then go hook up with the chicks who were watching me

rap music.... once u have some sweet ass rap music, u will want to do some short of trick be in rails or airs, cause u just feel it. trying just skiing around with reg music, then rap comes on, and all u want to do is jump and spin and shit.

it's wierd, with music, hip-hop for me, it makes you think less about fear and the music just fills your mind instead. i havn't tried jumps yet this year but for rails i feel a difference

it helps me to say. well if i don't do it i'll be mad at myself and it will bug me until i ski again. just go for it and after wether u crash or not. you'll be over the fear and it won't seem so bad anymore at all

i try saying fuck it. sometimes it works, mostly on rails, but lately i've just been pussying out. when i do do something like today i tried a 5 and landed back and hit my head and somehow hurt my legs also i usually end up getting hurt but then I know i can do it i just need to work on it

this is what you need to do. say your goin for a 7 or something you've never tried before dont think about it over and over just go for it. the only reason you get scared is cuase you let it get in. if you just go for it then you dont have time to be scared

this shit happens to me all the time i really gotta work on just like relaxing and just thinking about the trick cuz when i do that it works, and bailing out is terrible u get hurt more when u do that even tho u think u wouldnt. just kinda gotta form a wall between u knoing u can do it and ur fear, just gotta block it out
