putting your non grabbing hand in the air counters the action of the grab and makes it easier, while looking better. it's not just for style, it's funtion too.

bring your knees up to you, cross your skis, grab the bottom one if you want to tweak it. not too hard. and the hand that goes into the air serves as a counter if you accidently throw your body forward, though that will not happen.
