Who was the first person to grind on skis?
i heard it was a dude named andrew parry
pollard was grinding trees back in the day
to be honest, I was grinding on a bench in my friends backyard in Utah when I was 12 or so that would have been 1985!
ive got documentation of a tree slide when i was in middle school, singletips and everything.
legend has it that JF was the first skier to try it.
peopel have been doin it for so long
Glen Plake does acrobatics
No way to settle this at all. I did rails ever since parks were opened here in Colorado. I was like 7 probably don't even know. But, as long as parks have been up people have been hitting rails, and im sure even before that.
does not seeing the snow guns pipes on the side of the trail count?
Greg Hydle....remeber him from the movie Unknown
You cannot know for sure. I mean if it was a park rail or a tree, it doesn't matter because technically the first person to grind could have been wayyy back in the day of wooden 210's when a skier accidentally rode over a tree branch or a rock.
well this seems to be going no where,
WHO WAS FIRST PERSON TO GRIND A HANDRAIL ON SKIS
People occasionally and I stress ocasionally jibbed some stairs railings in the 70's & 80's with YES 195cm 203cm 208cm even 222cm downhill racing skis. Believe it or not!
james bond slid a picnic table in one of older bond movies, I don't remember which one but it was definitely from at least the 1980s
thats like asking "who invented running?"
Well the first ever rail cover was by Skogen Sprang and the magazine that ran it was Freeze. I believe that was in 99...correct me if I'm wrong
undoubtedly, some guy we have never heard of in the 70s or 80s did it.
way to read last months freeskier
Hakmed Durka from Durkastan was the first person.
this will never be settled
I was the first man on earth to grind on skis MUAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHA!
i think the idea of it has been around for a while. i think as long as skateboarders, and snowboarders have been doing it, skiers have been doing it. The thing is that skiing is not as mainstream in ( action sports) so people did not know about it untill recently.
